Thank you for all your inputs !

I advise you to see a physician.

Therefore sometimes I can't breath and don't have enough air.

A little alarming don't you think? Take markjrn's advice and get thee to the doctor.

are you overweight?

the reason i ask is because if you are expending more energy than your body can supply, there is going to be an oxygen deficit. if overweight and exerting yourself, you are straining your heart to pump blood to the rest of your circulation which can compromise cardiac output. the extra weight puts extra demands on your heart and lungs. so if the extra stress exerted exceeds the actual amt of blood return, there is going to be a deficit, thus shortness of breath.

you need to go to your pcp for a thorough checkup. much luck to you.

Hello markjrn & z's playa,

Thank you for replying :)

I thought I just have difficulty breathing and it's from running back and forth. Isn't that normal ?

What about neck strain ? I thought the pain will go away after a few days? Anyone has any inputs on this and how to relieve the pain ?

Hello Earle58,

I think I am little overweight. So my condition is not that serious, right? You guys advise me to go see a doctor, I am a little scare :uhoh3: Can I ask you to give me some inputs on the neck strain, how I can relieve this symptom. Thanks .

i did not say if it was serious or not. i am not a doctor nor have i ever examined or seen you. i merely gave a reason for shortness of breath in an overweight person. there are many reasons for sob that need to be pursued by an md.

if tylenol/motrin and ice and/or heat don't work for your neck strain, then again and still, i advise you to see your doctor. none of us enjoys it but if we value our health, we'll do it. good luck.

Difficulty breathing should always be treated seriously. The advice you will continue to get here is go see a Doc.

Hi guys,

Family doctor didn't really go deep into the patho and etiology of why people have difficulty breathing after a long day of working? So one of the reason is because overweight leads to oxygen deficit. Until I could find a better doctor, what can I do to prevent this from happening ?

i'm confused- i thought you were afraid to see a doctor.

and for an md to be dismissive of respiratory problems is also perplexing to me.

you stated you're only slightly overweight so i doubt there would be that much of an o2 deficit where you'd be huffing and puffing.

something smells fishy about this thread.

go find another doctor but this is not the place to be seeking medical advice.

good luck.

FYI, most of us here are NURSES, most of us are not licensed to diagnose and treat. The ones of us that are NP's probably wouldn't think about attempting to diagnose and treat you over the internet, I would suggest you follow the previous suggestions of seeing a doctor or NP in person. If you are unhappy with your current PCP, I would begin to look for another asap, especially if you are having breathing difficulties.
