Phantom vibrations

After a particularly busy day does anyone else feel the vibration from a non-existent pager or hear the incessant ringing of the call bell while they are showering or trying to sleep?

Or, am I just prone to hallucinations?

I've picked up the home phone several times because i was having a dream that i was getting called in.

The beeping IV haunts me when I try to sleep.

The beeping from plexipulse booties haunts me as well.

oh bruther....I have gotten up in the middle of the night to "turn off" the IV pump....I have also run whole Codes in my sleep, out loud....my kids asked me the next morning if the guy lived!! Asked, "what guy?"

"the one you were giving CPR and intubating in your sleep to, last night!!"

This is when I know I am WAAAAY too overboard in my job and I need a break! sigh.

When I worked Med/Surge, I used to hear IV pumps beeping in my sleep!!!

I'm getting ready to return to Med/Surge so.... here we go again! :)

I've heard call lights, SCD pumps, just about it all.

I used to work nights on med-surg. My hubby told me one day after getting me back to bed (I walk in my sleep, anyway), that I jumped up and started to run out of the room. He asked me where I was going, and said that I told him, " I'm gonna go shut this IV off, I'll be right back." He also says he would wake up and see me sitting up in bed thumping the bubbles out of an imaginary syringe, and one memorable morning, he woke up to find me palpating his veins, getting ready for an IV!

Nah, you're just having nurse-y dreams. :lol2:

In my sleep-deprived state on my way home, I frequently hear call bells going off.

Once I do lay down, it's usually the tele monitor alarming, but I hear IV pumps as well.
