Is there ANY hospitals left that still have pensions vs 401/403s?

For an employer-sponsired pension, you may wish to seek employment with a city, state, county, or federal-owned facility. Pensions are quickly becoming a thing of the past in the private sector.

I work for a catholic hospital system that provides a pension plus 403b.

In my metro area with a zillion large hospitals and health systems only 1 offers a pension still and it is near impossible to get a foot in the door there. Along with pensions they are the only one that offers paid maternity leave and a slew of other lovely benefits. Their employees never leave. so very few openings and they get very competitive.

My first job was at a hospital that offered an employer paid pension plan. Employees were vested after 3 years of experience. They also offered a 403B but did not offer any employee-matching because of the pension.
