peer interview

I have my first ever peer interview as a new grad next week and I am wondering if anyone can give me any ideas for types of questions to ask the nurses?

I feel like I asked everything I wanted to know during my first interview so now I am at a bit of a loss!

I am literally in the same exact situation with my second, peer interview being next week as well! Also curious!

When we do peer interviews, the manager isn't involved so this is the chance to ask any questions you were too afraid to ask the manager. You can even ask questions about the manager.

Be sure to ask about overtime, call, etc.

How about questions relative to teamwork? During an emergent situation or crisis with a pt, is the staff "all hands on deck" or "every man for himself"?

Ask questions regarding pt assignments, how are new admits assigned, how is report handled? How about asking about staff & education meetings; are they scheduled in a way to allow everyone from all shifts to attend without a great deal of hardship (not a mandatory 13:00 meeting for night shift).

This is a chance for you & potential coworkers to meet & determine if there are any dealbreakers for working together; will you fit in?

I wouldn't necessarily worry about repeating some of your questions. You may get different answers from staff vs what the manager said.
