Just started Nursing school & need help!!
Does anyone have any suggestions for Pathophysiology? Or any helpful studying websites or links?
Or know any websites with practice quizzes/exams?

My best advice for pathphys is to work hard on understanding the concepts. You can memorize facts and processes until you are blue in the face but unless you truly understand what is going on, the course will be very very challenging.

I have one word of advise...electrolytes! know them like the back of your hand because you will use them as a nurse and I agree totally with the other poster, get out of the habit of just memorizing things. You have to be able to critically think and apply what you have learned. Good Luck!

Pathophysiology Made Incredibly Easy...it breaks it down into an easier to understand chunk of info than textbooks do. It was something our instructor suggested and I am SO GLAD I listened to her.

I also used Pathophysiology Made Incredibly Easy--I took patho in spring 10 and I remember most of it, but every so often I will need a refresher and it's a great reference!

You have to learn for application and synthesis. In other words, you have to understand it. Do whatever you've got to do to achieve understanding. Read it slowly and methodically. Don't move on until you get the sentence you just read .

I am quickly sinking in my patho class... We have online exams, and they are completely unreasonable: answers in multiple choice a,b,c,d,e,f. I have failed the first two exams.... I will accept any advise, ANY ADVICE for my last four exams so that I can pass... Otherwise, I need to drop out of my DNP program. I have a 3.87 gpa, and this one class is going to ruin my career!
I tried to use this book to help facilitate my learning and pass my open book online exams, and I found this book to be NO help...NONE.
My teacher is an Anesthesiologist, whom does not understand that the majority of my class is failing and cannot keep up on these exams.... I know of 4 people going to loose their standing in the school from failing this. I cannot believe that now that I am at the finish line, I wont graduate!

the physiology coloring book (and its cousin, the anatomy coloring book) are excellent, excellent adjuncts to whatever other texts you have. they are not childish or a joke, but real, useful ways to help you "get it." i believe you can even download them now, but having them in hard copy will be handy later.
