Aug 1, 20178 yr OTOH, maybe s/he simply meant they don't find it too useful in some situations.Accuracy of the advanced trauma life support guidelines for predicting systolic blood pressure using carotid, femoral, and radial pulses: observational studyNot quite the same thing. when measuring SBP by palpation, you are getting a fairly accurate systolic number. If you can't feel the pulse, you can use a doppler to listen for the pulse return. Its quite effective in emergent situations when you can't hear anything.
