Hi! Cheer up! I graduated recently and felt the same way! I was average student just trying to survive nursing school but I didn't look at others but myself. I just felt as far as I was studying hard and doing what I was suppose to be doing I didn't care about other people. JUST FOCUS ON WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE FOR YOU TO BE SUCCESSFUL SO YOU DON'T FLUNK NURSING SCHOOL! SOME OF MY FRIENDS JOKE C= TO RN(Yeah...I know that sounds corny) But, look an average student like me in my class pass nclex first time and some with high A's and B's failed nclex!:yeah:

P.S. I would advise you to buy a saunders comprehensive review book and Kaplan Strategies 2010-11 book. I think it will be really be helpful. Don't panick-believe me everyone feels overwelmed in nursing school-the smart and the average!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello :) I'm in your shoes right now. I just started nursing school a few weeks ago. It's been so hectic! I have one piece of advice for you though that I also keep telling myself: Don't stress! It's all a lot of learning and it's not going to come to you right away. It's all about repeation to remember concepts and most of all confidence. Worrying too much will make the experience a nightmare, and will put a lot of pressure on you which will make your grades suffer. Just take some time each night to look over your notes, pay your best attention in lectures, and most of all enjoy it. Studying is key, and applying what you learn will soon come naturally. Once you get the hang of things it'll all become a lot easier and a lot of fun. Just don't scare yourself. Pat yourself on the back and congratulate yourself for taking a step into a wonderful future.

Best of luck!

I graduated in May so I have some experience in this. Working full time and being a father is pretty hard in nursing school, and the stress of being overwhelmed at times adds just to that. The best advise I can give to you is take one day at a time. It's easy to look a couple weeks into the future....I have this due in October....This due in two weeks....clinical tomorrow....It's easy to get lost in all the stuff you have to do. Focus on the week at hand. If you look too long term, you will stress yourself out. You will learn what works best for you, but babystep everything.

I'm sorry you feel this way but I can promise you that anyone who has been through nursing school or is in nursing school feels this same way. I worked part-time through nursing school about 16-20 hours a week as a Home Health Aide, but it was difficult. If at all possible find a job that would allow you some time to study while at work. Just stay motivated and remember you can make it through!

C equal degrees.....and academic probation.

I'm floating on these next two test I have to take. Nothing better than going to a patho class and feel like you get more from the book than spending three hours in the class listening to lecture that is being fired off with no pattern or covering all the slides.....test in 20 minutes.

Honestly I'm looking at October 1st and wondering if I should get half my tuition back if I do bad on these next two test. I have no plan B, yet I already have a BS. Trying soooooooooooo^4million hard not to stress out, but everything seems compounded.

In a few years, it won't matter that you got a C on your exams. Seriously, not everyone tests well, it doesn't mean you don't know the material. Nursing tests are challenging and for a good reason ;-) If your passion is to become a nurse, wake up tomorrow morning with a fresh start and a new attitude and tackle it head on. Focus on learning things, rather than studying to get an A. I do not test well at all; never have. I understand where you're coming from but try not to let the C's bring you down. Most of my friends in nursing school get A's and B's on the exam and I know the same information they do so you can't compare. You can do it!! It's a short time in your life and it's going by fast. Good luck to you!
