Ordering Supplies

Hi fellow nurses!

Current new hire as a second school nurse at a high school but will be covering a middle school temporarily while they interview for a permanent one. While I was orientation, my preceptor told me I can order anything I want that I think I will need. Any advice to a new school nurse? We are loaded with disinfectant sprays, wipes, and PPE for our rapid covid swabbing and in general. Are there any supplies you think will be beneficial for me as I cover the middle school temporarily?

Thanks!

You can always ask your primary school nurse what she goes through.   High school and middle school aren't that different.   The only thing I would lay in different is perhaps some additional hygiene supplies for the girls for the sudden first periods.

Huge yes to hygiene supplies. Both pads and tampons (though you will use way more pads). In the same vein, extra underwear is something I also stock.

Also found mini deodorants to be helpful to have on hand.
