I am looking at my scheduling for the Spring and Summer semesters, trying to get something to fit into my schedule. This semester worked out so perfectly, but I am having trouble with these 2. Anyway, I am looking at Microbiology in the summer so I won't have to take it during the nursing program. They have a classroom option, but I am not sure that the time is the best. I am really considering the online option with 2 labs/wk at the school. Would this be really tough?
I am not sure what to expect with Microbiology. I have an A in A&P I with a slightly difficult teacher and can pass the practice tests of our hardest teacher on campus with an A or B if that gives you an insight. I really could use some direction. Thanks so much.

Hmmm....not sure about Micro online. I am taking both Lab and Lecture at class. The lab is phenomenol. The lecture is kinda boring....goes thru notes, nothing I couldn't read on my own. Not sure if you took A&P online. If you can do that, you can do this one online too. Best of luck.:typing

I am currently taking Micro online. Taking it 100 % online meant I had to buy a lab kit and microscope- about $430. Not including the text book. It is very do-able if you keep up with the work. I do think it would be easier to take a hybrid class- which is going to the school to do the labs. If you make a mistake on the labs, the lab kit often does not contain extra supplies to redo something.
Good Luck!

I took Micro online and did labs every two weeks in the classroom. The professor posted his lecture powerpoints to the blackboard and we read the book and studied the notes from home. I didn't think the online course was any different than it would have been classroom style. Our teacher even gave us study guides for the tests.
I think I am going to go for it. The professor that will be teaching it substituted my chem class for the first 2 weeks of this semester. He is really a good teacher and I look forward to working with him. As long as all goes well I will be in online chem for the summer.

I tried online Chemistry, and dropped out after 2 weeks. I think I do much better in a situation where I can ask the professor questions whenever I need to. When I took the online Chemistry, I couldn't figure out some of the answers to the homework problems. We had the answers in the back of the book, but that didn't explain how we got those answers. I don't think I'd attempt any more online classes for subjects that are difficult for me--Chemistry, Micro. I think I'd be fine with psych, A&P, nutrition.
