Online Classes

I am taking an online course and i just wanted to know if anyone had any experience taking online courses. How did you like it or did you like it?

They're awesome for gen eds...

I wouldn't take a medical class online however.

Like PP said, they are definitely great and beneficial for general education courses. Online classes have helped me continue to work my regular hours through pre-reqs, but that's as far as I let online go! I'd advise you not to take any others online. You could try, but tread very carefully - it could really cause repercussions.

yeah its an art class i have micro to worry about haha

I took anatomy online and was half a percent from an A. I also took it over the summer...in 8 weeks! Not recommended by me! Lol

I am currently doing my pre reqs online and have done fairly well. I would have to agree that you do not learn as much as you would in a traditional classroom.

I think it depends on you, your learning style, your dedication to do the work on your own, and the instructor. I learned the hard way (as did my best friend), to check your instructor out before classes start. Ask others who have had him/her, google the instructor, and check ratemyprofessor.com. Do this before it's too late to change classes, or get a 100% refund on tuition/books/supplies.

Online classes are great and convenient. I took history and psychology online. I was able to work fulltime and do classes. I would recommend online classes, because it gives you flexibility with what ever work schedule you may have. Good Luck!

The teacher is awesome its just that i dont want to spend the time in the class room at 6pm. So i rather just go take it online. When im free on campus ill talk to her ofc about her class. I just really didnt want to have to sit in school till 6pm for an art class haha

General ed classes are great to take online! I took 2 music classes online during the summer (one this summer & the other last summer). They were very easy for me. We were required to participate on the discussion board. I have to say that posting on a discussion board is way less intimidating than participating in real life.

Since you are taking a visual arts class, I'm sure you won't have any problem.

Some are great, and some are really difficult. It depends a lot on the class structure, the teacher, and your personal motivation. I find it helps me to designate a time for my online classes like I would if they were in person. I'm taking an A&P class online (lab is over a weekend in person) and I know it will require a lot of discipline to get an A. I think visual arts should be fine.
