Oh no! Advice please!

Don't despair yet. Keep watching the registration site (assuming registration is online) to see if a space opens up in the Micro class. Check several times a day. I had the same problem last term, but then about 10 days before class started when I checked the class status (for probably the 1000X time - lol!) I saw there was an opening! I had all my registration info (credit card, etc) with me and immediately registered:up:. Your other thoughts on taking an additional class to up your priority is also a good one, jsut as long as it doesn't impact your study time for the class that does count (A&P2). Take some other classes that might be helpful, even if they are not prerequisites: a language, medical terminology, basic pharmacology, human growth and development, etc. I don't know about replacing grade though. Different schools have different policies for that. Good Luck!

I had a friend run into the same problem. She was so determined that she just took the class she needed at a different CC. Yes, she had to drive an additional half hour, but like I said she was determined to make her original deadline.

Now, I understand this isn't an option for a lot of us, especially if you have financial aid through your current school. The post above me is right because a lot of times folks will drop the class due to non payment or for other random reasons. Keep looking, and put yourself on the waitlist if you can.

I agree. Watch the schedule, my school has a drop day (it's actually today) if fees arent paid by today they drop you. So quiet a few spots open up. Also you could talk to some of the teachers, or the head over the science dept. Good Luck!

Ah! Wonderful news! I got onto the 3 person waitlist for micro! I logged in early, and just kept resubmitting till registration opened at 7. I'm last on the waitlist, but it's only 3 people for a 30 person class. Huzzah! Just crossing my fingers hoping someone doesn't pay! Wooo!

Hurray:yeah:! Even if you are on the waitlist, go to the first week (or two) of class if the prof will allow. It seems like there are always lots of drops in science classes.

I did AP2 and Micro through ccconline.org. They are accredited and offer it in every term. You can even take both of those at the same time. It may be a way to get done way sooner, even if the cost is more.

if you're no. 3, you'll get in for sure, people are always dropping out. Even if they don't they'll usually add the 1st 5 from the waiting list, at least at my school they do. I also just need micro and a&p2 and i'm taking them together this spring. So good luck to us both, we'll be very busy.

Something very similar just happened to me, but it was cellular biology I was trying to get in. I've been out of school for a year, so I was in the last group to be able to register. I was so bummed when I saw the last spot for the class I needed, get taken the night before I registered. (I only need 4 more classes to apply, but I must take them in order, and I really didn't want to push myself back an entire quarter by not getting in this class) My hubby told me to put myself on the wait list anyhow, and register for other classes just in case. I was 3rd on a list of 15. This was a month ago. I just checked my waitlist status today and found out I've been placed in the class! Tuition was due a couple days ago, which always causes a few spots to open up in classes. You made the right choice getting on the wait list, hopefully you'll get bumped in very soon!

At my school, they have waitlists too.....and the advisors say that if you are number 7 or under in a class of 30 you will likely get in. 7 is the amount of people that do not follow thru with classes. Hope that holds for your school too.

I did a real, real dumb thing last night. I registered on Nov 23 at 6 am for all my classes, the first day allowed. (being true to myself and very anal about everything, I had to be prepared. haha) I was the first student in 4 classes I registered for. Well, last night, I got online to pay my tuition bill and accidentally clicked on the drop button and dropped all the classes. Ugh!!! I was able to resign up for 3 of those but now I am waitlisted for 1. Not good. Stupid stupid mistake.

You should try to add the micro class. It's at least worth a try. I was in the same situation with a entry RN class i needed, I saw my counselor and he wrote me reference letter to the teacher saying that I'm ready submit my application and this is the only class i need, if she would please allow me to add her class. Trust me when i say that it is worth a shot.

If not, like you said statistics and even a nutritional or speech class would be helpful once you are in the program.

I did that too! Grabbed a seat let go while I was viewing the list-- at nearly midnight the day before class started!
