Call HR back and if they don't pick up leave a message.

"Hi this is RNBSN2014 returning your call about an offer for a position in the critical care nurse residency program. I am so grateful for this opportunity and I would like to get in touch with you to discuss the next steps. Please call me back at your convenience at 123-456-7899. Thanks and have a good day."

Pretend you don't know anything about the status change online.

I interviewed for a position once. Was in touch with managers etc. got a rejection email from a recruiter from the same company which specified the unit, but not the one I had been emailing all along. Got an offer from my manager two weeks later.

I'm wondering what I should do at this point. On monday while we were playing phone tag i left two voicemails (as did she). tuesday morning i called again, didn't leave a voicemail, but i did fill out paperwork that was emailed to me. it stated right in the form "this is not an official offer" .... i feel like her message stating "we would like to extend an offer" was?

i guess what i'm wondering is: do i have this job since she left a voicemail stating that she wanted to extend an offer and then i left one for her saying that i wanted to accept it? or is it not official yet? i'm also wondering how often i should try to contact her.

I've noticed in applying for various jobs over the years that, some HR departments are flaky, inconsiderate, and unprofessional. Others are organized, communicative, and courteous.

It sounds like you're dealing with the former.

Online systems for HR are notoriously bad. They usually don't have any resident IT folks to help them make the necessary fixes & probably don't have the know-how to fix them by themselves.... so the problems just do on and on.

Technically, if the HR person made you a 'verbal offer', this is pretty binding. Unless the 'offer message' also contained information about a deadline to respond, you need to pursue it vigorously... and pitch a fit if they try to rescind it.

Would it hurt to pay a visit to the HR department? What does everyone think about that? Too pushy?

After I had been working at a place for 4 months, I finally got an email from HR that they "had found someone who was a better fit" and to keep applying. And thus I learned that some HR departments don't have great control over their automated software, even at a smallish hospital. I agree with others to leave a voicemail and keep pursuing it.

Awesome that you got the job. Asks questions and then ask more especially in Critical care. Remember to be proactive in care. I was originally going to tell you to just walk into the HR office cause they can't hide from you.

I am in a similar situation! I haven't heard back yet but when I checked my application status online for my position, it has just changed from "in process" to "no longer under consideration."

Do you happen to know if the job search website you used online was from "Brassring"? That is the system I'm working with. I'm wondering if they choose "no longer under consideration" when you are about to be offered the job ??
