Oasis help!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone please explain me what oasis is??????? Does every home care company uses this??????? Is this something only upper managment is involved with or do field nurses know about it too!!!!!!

oasis question: surgical wound

when is surgical wound no longer considered a surgical wound (for oasis purposes), i know it is after some many weeks but i can't find the answer anywhere

definitions:

healing by primary intention (i.e. approximated incisions).

fully granulating/healing (response 1):

  • incision well approximated with complete epithelialization
  • no signs or symptoms of infection

early/partial granulation (response 2):

  • incision well approximated but not completely epithelialized

  • no signs or symptoms of infection


**new post op incisions with staples/steri strips without signs of infection usually response 2

non-healing (response 3):

  • incisional separation or

  • incisional necrosis or


  • signs or symptoms of infection


patient has surgical wound until discharged from care ---really takes 6 months for full internal epitialization to occur. :)
