NVCC Spring 2018 Hybrid Program

Hey all! Starting a thread for those applying to NVCC (Northern Virginia Com Coll) for the spring nursing program! This is my second time applying - tried for last Spring but didn't make it - my grades are a mix of mostly B's and some A's and I got 87.5, 80 and 90 on my TEAS sections. I really wish they'd let us use LORs or at least consider work experience. And I'm so glad they raised the TEAS requirements back to 78 - I heard that threw everything off for last year and that's why so many people applied. I also heard that they are accepting more people overall this year, so fingers crossed!!!

May the odds be ever in our favor

I was in the office for Financial Aid today and overheard someone say that everything was done. This is my 3rd time applying :/ fyi. Retook my science courses and got all A's and 90's on the Teas. Hope I get in! Good Luck everyone!!!!

Always mysterious how they do their selection unless someone happens to overhear something at the financial aid office or security post. Please what else did you overhear? Scoring in the 's is nothing. Teas scores are numbers and easy to write and more credible. No offense intended here, just saying.

ENG 98; Reading 95; Math; 99.

I couldn't hear much other than they're done with applications and it had to do with nursing hybrid.

You should get in, no doubt... I think they might send out decisions tomorrow. Twice I have applied and it has always been on a Wednesday. How did you score so high if I may ask especially on the English and reading. Been struggling with those.

Wow..your teas scores are above perfect. How did you make so high scores in reading and eng?it is almost impossible for me to be in even 80's. Well you are qualified for the program this year with no doubt.

I did get two more emails from mec last week. Did anyone else get any more emails?

No I have not..what the emails are about?

To clarify, none of the emails are acceptance letters

I don't remember very well. One was about nursing scholarships, and I think insurance or something.

I think we have to start logging onto school email a lot to see if they have a decision. Because I am sure they have to start these accept and wait lists soon.

I did get the 2 emails last week. Apologies for just randomly hopping into this thread but I applied as well. I'm so nervous. I saw on this thread they are only taking 25 applicants?! What on earth.... kind of a hopeless case.

I used khanacademy for most of study and the ATI TEAS book. The NOVA testing center website also had pre-recorded study sessions that helped. I also used quizlet here and there. one of the advisers at the MEC gave me the links when he emailed me a follow up email to our visit.
