Hey does anyone know about applying to other community colleges nursing program? Like if you do maintain your GPA even though your transcript has to be reviewed?

Also what are you guys looking into for spring 2017 or next year? I know that many nursing programs deadlines have already passed. However there are technical schools that are open for spring 2017. I have heard that Chamberlain sucks your money, however is it really that bad? I mean you do graduate with a BSN after the program.

I'm actually looking into Chamberlain myself. Have you looked into it also?! It has never seemed like a bad nursing school to me, but I always hear mixed reviews about them. I've been trying to ask around for current students' or recent graduates' opinions on how their experience was at Chamberlain to get more insight.

I had actually already gone to their open house a couple of months ago to inquire about their program, and I do have a lot of credits that will transfer from NOVA which will cut down the cost, as well as the time it'll take to get my BSN, because they told me that I'd actually get my BSN within 2 years instead of 3. Of course that sounded extremely exciting, but it is pricey since it is a private nursing school.

At this point though, I'm highly considering it. I personally do not have the time to just wait around for a year until next fall comes around to reapply to NOVA's program, and then possibly have my hopes crushed again.

I really wish there were more community colleges around with other ADN options. But regardless, my end goal is a BSN, so I guess I have no choice but to go straight for it rather than the ADN + RN-BSN route.

So question, does anyone know if NVCC is at risk of losing their accreditation for their nursing program? i keep hearing chatter every now and again but i can't find anything that proves/disproves that.

I have a feeling nova has lost its good reputation with clinical sites because they have accepted so many students in the past and am assuming a lot of them don't make it through the entire program... That's just my guess of why they only had 50 spots in hospitals

hmm maybe. but i know that it's not just schools in the area that compete each other for clinical spots, the hospitals in the area also accept to take on students from schools in PA & MD. especially since they only send the students in groups of 6-8 to clinical sites. they may have just dropped the ball in acquiring the normal number of clinical slots b/c of the chaos going on within the department like the firing of the dean/needing an interim dean while looking for permanent dean.

I looked into chamberlain last year myself, the 3 year bsn is very appealing. I decided against it because I feel like even though it's legit, at least nova produces good nurses, I don't know that about chamberlain as of yet. I looked into Marymounts nursing program and really want to apply, And besides their pre reqs, there are their core requirements which I could complete at nova, but I don't think I can finish all the classes before their spring application deadline. So that means more waiting : ( I, like someone else said don't have time to wait a year+ before even applying to another nursing program, but I might have no choice. If I don't get accepted into the hybrid I'll of course still apply to nova again next spring, just so mad I have to wait so long.

I register for Marymount Information Session in July! Anyone going to that one? I give up my hope on the rejection letter at this point.

My work schedule for July is already made, so I cannot go to that one, however I am looking at going to the one in August. I like that I could jump right into the nursing program fall of 2017 if I am accepted, I had looked at Mason but due to the amount of courses before applying to their nursing program, there is no way I would be able to finish them before that application deadline. I am a little worried about the cost of Marymount though, it looks like it is almost 30$ grand for a year. Yikes:dead:

Did everyone receive the official rejection email? They posted on FB saying that they were sent out but I never received it. Now I have to wait until Tuesday to find out anything.
