nursing programs in washington state!

hello all :)

i currently live in california and will be moving to washington state next year. im currently working on my pre-requisites and am focused on becoming an RN!

i am looking for entry level programs in northeast washington to apply to. mainly areas like spokane and wenatchee, anything that is east of wenatchee and north of spokane in washington is pretty much the area i am looking at.

i am mainly looking for RN programs but BSN programs will work too, just no LPN programs please :) also, i am looking for entry level programs. it seems most of the ones i bump into are for LPNs or CNAs to further their schooling, but i need something entry level being that i have no certifications and such.

if you know of any programs or think you can help me in any way, please reply!

    I know Washington State University at Spokane has a BSN program. Spokane Community College has an RN program. Do a quick search and I'm sure you will find more programs.

    I also know that some of the programs in Washington require you to have CNA certification before entering the nursing program. Not sure which ones, you'll have to do some research

    There is a nursing school consortium based out of Spokane that is affiliated with WSU, Whitworth, and EWU as well as 2 year schools including Spokane Falls, Walla Walla, and Yakima. I don't know of any programs north of Spokane, unless you go into Idaho. There really isn't that much in general directly north of Spokane, If you go Northwest of Spokane there's Omak which has a two year program.

    Just thought I'd mention that most, if not all, of the nursing programs here in WA state require you to have your CNA before being accepted into the program itself, so it's worth your while to get that certification before applying.

    Perhaps this is common in Western WA, but this is not the case at WSU, CBC or YVCC.

    Not really.. some programs require it. Many of those that do only require it prior to starting - not applying. I would look at your specific schools to see if this is the case... that being said its a great thing to have, especially to gain some experience, and to be more competitive for programs that rank applicants in their admission process (those that take such things into effect.. many are grade / class objective rankings..)
