As a student nurse looking to keep up with medical news and trends, I'm curious what nurses in the field find to be the best read. I've been looking at AJN and Nursing (Nurses?) 2013 to name a couple. Any input? Thanks :)

Honestly I love Medscape. Free digests every few days, many pertaining to nursing issues, as well as medications and treatment updates. Once you find something that piques your interest you can use your school databases for more literature. I had AJN for a time, but found I didn't really look at it, and it cost a pretty penny. I say for now save some cash. Also there are CEU's available through Medscape as well, plus the phone app keeps it at your fingertips at all times.
Good luck in school!

I second everything Tait says. I have an AJN subscription and I am sort of meh about it, but I do love Medscape. It's free and you can get CEUs from them. They have some neat educational slideshows on there too.

Medscape is a great resource for nurses. You can keep up with current EBP subjects, as well as CEUs. The plus is that their app is available on smartphones for quick reference and reading.
Thanks!! I just downloaded it and it seems awesome :)
