Nurse in the USA

Hi all!

I'm a italian nurse, i wondered one thing: if I wanted working as nurse in the USA how should I do? I suppose that my degree isn't acknowledged in the USA...

At the moment it's just curiosity, but who knows, in the future...among other things, before I must surely improve my english :)

Thanks in advance to who will want answer.

First step is to contact the state BON of the state that you want to work in to check their policies on foreign graduates. Most states will direct you to step two.

Step two is to contact the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools. They are the ones that review your education and give you a predictor exam and English exam. CGFNS International | Global Credibility

After that is to take the NCLEX, when approved, and find a job.

Thank you very much for the answer, you have been very clear.

When looking for a employer you need to decide which route you are taking and if immigrant visa then look at retrogression and the 2 plus years depending on where born before a visa is issued so not many employers at the moment willing to wait that long.
