Not so random thoughts for number 1000

Published

Man, I've waited a long time for this, but now is the time for my 2nd official installment of random thoughts--except they aren't so random this time. I say official because just about every post I make is a collection of random thoughts; sometimes they make sense, sometimes...eh...not so much

also, there wont be as many random thoughts because many of these thoughts are updates from my previous thoughts

For the first collection, go here:

https://allnurses.com/forums/f8/random-thoughts-number-500-a-112058.html

So here goes:

1) I joined this board 10/03; made it to 500 on 7/15/05; now almost 3 yrs. later I've doubled my output, which isn't so bad considering I didn't post much at all for 2006 and most of 2007; but I think I can give up the dream of catching folks like tweety, VivaLasVegas, jnette, et. al

2) Since 500 I've moved back to TX; gotten a job as a research nurse; got hitched; went on my first cruise--and it was awesome; completed a RN-BSN/MSN progam, earning a 4.0 GPA; became an expectant father; and was accepted into a PMHNP program to be updated come post 1500, which will likely be another 3+ yrs to achieve

3) I still like this website. I like the sharing of ideas and the knowledge that can be gained. Additionally I like the addition of the 'Thanks' button. I feel important and stuff when y'all push it.

4) I kinda like my current job, but absolutely hate the institution. I'm probably going to hunt for a new job once my child is born.

5) Although I'm not nearly as lazy as I was in CA, I continue to eat myself into an early grave; why does unhealthy food have to be so delicious?

6) I miss CA, except fot being lazy--the weather was so beautiful; the scenery pristine; and my job was awesome

7) I had a good workout this morning, but I wish I could get out of bed more quickly; it's soooooo painful when that alarm goes off at 5 am

8) Speaking of #4, my child cannot come into the world soon enough; I pray he/she is healthy; we just found out my wife developed gestational diabetes which is kinda stressing us out, but at least this might help me with #5, so there is a silver lining I guess

Ok, this is all that I can think of right now and there is another subject I want to post something on, so I have to post this now for number 1000. I promise I'm not too OCD.:D

Everyone have a lovely day.

Congrats :D. Thanks for the update. It's fun to read the personal stuff; especially when it's all in one post; that's easier than putting together bits and pieces.

Great news about your little one coming. I hope your wife does well with GD.

I am with you on that 0500 alarm; nothing good about hearing that at a time when all you are wanting to do is sleep .

And I am thanking you so you can feel important and stuff :D; consider it a gift from me, LOL.

haha.. great post! Congratulations on welcoming a new one into the world!!!

Oh.. and I very much agree.. why the heck does delicious food have to be so dang bad for you? grrrrrrrrrrr :banghead:

Wow.... 4.0 in a RN-BSN/MSN program! I'm jealous, yet I worship you!

Can't wait to read the update in a few years.

Awesome post! Thanks for the personal info!

thanks to everyone for the comments and "Thanks" although I must admit it was a shameless plug on my part, but I've never claimed that I'm too proud to beg :-)
