Trying to keep my hopes up, but I think I might end up getting a B+ in Anatomy and Physiology. I need an A to be competitive for my school's ADN program. If I do end up with a B+ in Anatomy, I need an A in Chemistry which I'm taking in Fall semester to even have a chance of remaining competitive. If I get nothing more than a B for Chemistry my chances are extremely low. My school's program is extremely competitive, asking for a 3.8 minimum GPA. Btw my school is Laguardia Comm. College.
I cannot repeat classes and have the grade replaced if I do better. How my school works is that it does a scoring system. There are limited seats, so whoever scores highest will be selected first.
What would you guys do in my situation, if you did not get accepted in? Would you transfer, seek a private school for a pay-to-play like St. Paul's School of Nursing, maybe try again on applying?

I would try to keep my grades up as much as possible, obviously. But if you're not accepted on your first application, consider applying to other schools or even private schools. Just with private schools, make sure they're accredited.

As the PP stated make sure they are accredited!! Save that as a last resort. I don't know how many schools there are around you or how willing you are to drive however far, look into other schools, have a back up plan. Of course do your best and keep you're grades up but trust me, stressing yourself into a nervous wreck does not help things.
Good luck to you!

I would get the A in every subject that I could still possibly get an A in. Over the summer, I would (and did) take the full khanacademy.com chemistry class before my actual class and pre-study several hours per week. If possible, I would increase my GPA by taking more classes.
If all that didn't work then maybe I would go for a private school.

I would do research about the requirements of all nursing schools in my area. Do the absolutely best you can in your courses (duh, of course you will) and apply even if you're not certain about whether you'll get in. Do you mean that you actually need a 3.8 to apply, or that most applicants get in with that kind of GPA? That seems like a pretty high standard, even for really good schools.
Honestly, I would be very careful with the pay-to-play situation. I would check out NCLEX pass rates because that may affect your chances at a nursing job in the future. Good luck!

I got B+ in A&P 1&2 and I still got into a BSN nursing program. Don't beat yourself up over your grades. However do your best to keep your grades up. I made up for those Bs with A+s in Patho 1&2 the following semester. Ah the joy of the GPA grading system.

I personally would wait to apply again. Maybe even 2 cycles if I need to. Nothing ib my mind can justify the tuition and in turn--high debt that one usually accrues from going to a private uni. Id make private my last option. But thats just me, I dont like debt. I owe my mom $600 and that in itself is driving me nuts haha
