Greetings.

I am currently on the Full Application and Assessment. I would just want to clarify regarding the "WORK EXPERIENCE" part. May I know who are qualified to serve as reference? Are my senior co workers, charge nurses allowed to fill up my form? how about Clinical Nurse Educators? or the Head of the Nursing Care Group?

Thank you for the time.

Your seniors, charge, head nurse/line manager, clinical manager, and chief nurse are all allowed to fill up your form, so long as they have managed/led you. Also, make sure their title has the word "nurse" or "nursing" on it. This has been stressed by my agency when I submitted my references to them to be forwarded to ASC. The title was changed from "clinical manager" to "clinical nurse manager". Apparently, that R.N. by the end of their name wasn't enough indication.

With that, clinical instructors/educators are not qualified to do it.

Hi...

want to ask for the employers reference..since i am currently nurse supervisor who can be my reference? I cannot put the chief nurse because he doesn't want to fill up the form

@Mich567715I'm sorry to say this but is a stupid reason your chief nurse picked for not filling out your NMC form. You really should try to persuade him to do it as a chief nurse's referral would be ideal in this situation. In any case, I have a friend who was a clinical manager who asked 2 of the nurse managers under her to fill out the forms for her. I'm sure you can do the same.

I had trouble with this, too. Basically what NMC wants is a transcript where each subject is broken down into its theoretical (classroom) and clinical hours. Our college's transcript and clinical experience breakdown aren't formatted like that, but they do have workarounds like our full nursing course description, wherein each subject is broken down appropriately. That's what I submitted to NMC--along with my CE/RLE and ToR--back in the old scheme and they didn't have a problem with it. If your school is flexible enough, you could request for a waiver with the registrar/dean's signature and your school's dry seal and maybe have them include an unofficial breakdown, but it must match the one they listed in your NMC school form.

This has been helpful. Thank you. By the way, what kind of waiver is that?

Basically a declaration from your school saying they don't offer or provide transcripts of training that has breakdown of clinical and theoretical hours. If you have an agency, you could consult with them about any and additional declarations you may need if you've got lacking documents due to unavailability.

Today got a mail from Pearson which changed my test taking duration to 1 year rather than 6 months. Any one else got the same?

The CBT was somewhat manageable. There were some basic questions, most of it tested the critical thinking ability. There is a test blueprint available for download in pdf format. I advise you to backtrack this thread as some posted pointers, specific topics to review. Hope this helps and goodluck on your exam :cheeky:
