NMC Test Online

@jabbajaws It's good to know that it seems like the exam was not a challenge for you, that's encouraging . Did you find the questions easy? I also have the Royal Marsden book and also use NCLEX reviewers and I find myself weak in pharmacology in regards to medication properties. Does the exam have such kind of questions? What about the other claims about the problems in grammar and question's structure, did you encounter them as well :)?

Firstly, I bought the Royal Marsden book. It was a godsend and helped with applying things to the UK setting. I also used the blueprint but gave up on most bits as its so hard to use!

Exam was OK - it took me about 1 hour to go through 120 questions of which I flagged about 30 and went back and rechecked. I left after about 2 hours. Just read broadly and make sure you read the NMC standards - the code, medication management, consent, mental capacity act etc.

I didn't find it easy, some of the grammar and sentence structures were terrible! Often I couldn't find an obvious right answer but had to choose the best answer for that question. Focus on basic medication management ie adverse reactions opioids/antibiotics. It's pretty basic. And focus on what's best for the patient - patient advocacy and so forth :)

newbie here.. took the test last march 19 and luckily passed.. the royal marsden manual of nursing procedures is indeed useful and try to familiarize with the book.. download it via google play. Its quite expensive but its quite lesser than taking another exam. majority of the questions are about leadership and management. Drug calculations are quite easy you can do it without solving. finished the exams in less than 2 hours.. good luck to all of future takers!!

Well its pretty general.. specific questions about roughly 10 to 15 items.. well the average recommend vegetable diet i think is 2.5 to 3 servings a day and the question did appear.. which i have answered 3.. there are some legal issues as well like grounds for suspension of license and misconduct but its pretty much easy

thanks alot.. NO blueprint is pretty much messed up.. royal marsden i think is on the dot and spot-in in terms of the questions given.. the leadership and management i think is common sense. To give an example is a question about wat will u do if u caught a colleague hitting a client or service user. in that case i answered to approach the person in an unconfrontational way and telling them it is not appropriate..

Uk advocates 5 a day for fruits and veg.. Been following this thread for a while now and i'm happy that a lot are already passing the exam.. :) will be taking mine on the 1st of may.. God bless fellow Filipino nurses and Welcome to UK!

It bothers me to see posts that some of you have failed. Trust me, I know the feeling. I had my first attempt at Trident last December, I was astonished to see some of the questions in the Royals Marsden Manual are reflected there, word per word. I finished the test in less than an hour, flagged about 10 items and I am pretty confident when I clicked on End Review. I thought the results will be revealed in 48 hours or so but to my surprise, at 7pm of the same day, NMC emailed me saying my results are available. I logged in to my PearsonVue account and was devastated to see a Failed remark. Not the greatest Christmas gift anyone would ask for eh?

Good thing I have encouraging parents, they told me to study harder and just sit the test again whenever I am ready. Two months after my first take, I finally mustered enough bravery to face the same challenge. I booked my test at MisNet this time around. I have never felt so anxious in my life, I mean... When I took the Nursing board exam, it was easy breezy. Taking the IELTS is easy as pie, maybe I was too confident when I first sat the CBT that's why I did not pass. So I reread the Royal Marsden Manual, opened the links on NMC with critical items marked (I think those are the questions that matter most, but I would not discourage you to read every link if you have the time).

Come exam day, I faked my confidence yet again, I find the staff at Misnet more accommodating. Maybe because they speak Tagalog, haha! 60 minutes in the exam, I am almost done and I was like, what the? I have less than 10 items flagged for review too (is this happening all over again?) I memorized the questions I am not sure of the answer/ questions I have never encountered in my whole nursing career, 5 questions in which if one is a critical item, I'm dead. Or failed. I googled the questions I had a hard time answering while sipping a McFloat in Ayala Triangle. So, for the first question, to my horror, I ticked on the wrong answer. I did not bother to check the other four. I am sure it is one of the critical items for it is an essential question. Bye bye GBP130.

I went home, knowing the outcome of today, I can't sleep. Keep on blaming myself for being so stupid, haha! I have accepted defeat but just to make everything official, at 7pm, I checked my email. A message from NMC is waiting for to be read and even before I could open it, I read, "Congratulations on passing..." It felt so surreal! I have to log in to my PearsonVue account just to confirm and when I checked my exam history, the status was Pass. I could not believe it either!

Your take away lesson? Don't lose hope, gather inspiration from friends and family, they are the ones you can count whatever happens. If your/their pocket allows, retake the exam and trust you can do it the next time.
