  1. I am applying from NZ and I also had to resubmit documents to the NMC - university didn't specify geriatrics so had to fill in a training area form. In NZ community nursing is called primary care nursing so also had a TA form filled in for that explaining the same. Another 70 day wait... if this doesnt work out I will do something else for a job, the whole process is just awful! Feel so defeated. Flying out early September.
  2. I didn't find it easy, some of the grammar and sentence structures were terrible! Often I couldn't find an obvious right answer but had to choose the best answer for that question. Focus on basic medication management ie adverse reactions opioids/antibiotics. It's pretty basic. And focus on what's best for the patient - patient advocacy and so forth :)
  3. Hang in there guys you can do this! Firstly, I bought the Royal Marsden book. It was a godsend and helped with applying things to the UK setting. I also used the blueprint but gave up on most bits as its so hard to use! Exam was OK - it took me about 1 hour to go through 120 questions of which I flagged about 30 and went back and rechecked. I left after about 2 hours. Just read broadly and make sure you read the NMC standards - the code, medication management, consent, mental capacity act etc. Good luck!!!!!
  4. Just logged into Pearson vue and I've passed! Woohoo! I'm happy to answer any questions anyone has :)
  5. I'm from New Zealand. Will let you know when I get results! :S
  6. @freakazoa No results yet!
  7. @the_explorer I definitely recommend the royal marsden clinical procedures book - I bought it off Amazon and found it helpful especially with MCQs. I also read the blueprint and looked at the links but to be honest found it quite hard to use with all the errors and missing links! Dying inside just wanting to know my results.. Hopefully not too long to go.
  8. Hi guys! I did my NMC test this morning. Waiting to hear my results. I found this blog a couple of days ago, it's been really helpful so thank you!
