New to SC

Anybody out there with advice for someone who has not worked for a while? I recently moved to SC and am in the process of getting my KY license changed to SC (which is turning out to be harder than I thought it would be), but my problem is that I have not worked in about 12 years. I would love to hear from anybody on this issue, but especially if someone went through this or knows someone who has dealt with this. I really want to get back to work, but don't know where to start.

You didn't mentioned what area of SC... job opportunities are varied depending on where you live. LTC jobs seem more abundant here than hospital-based. Good luck to you.

Hello and welcome to SC! If I were you, I would have tried to stay in KY!

Anyway, I suggest you do a refresher course. I think the SC ANA or LLR runs one? I might do the same, and geeeez,

I've only been "out" of so-called RN work for about 3 years. Case managing super complex medical for my parents. It's been full-time often and there's no way I could ever have held down a job without being fired. Too bad I don't get any work credit (on resume, etc). I think my situation is not uncommon these days as we try and care for our parents.

But, good luck. Personally, I can't wait to get the *&@^ out of this state. Maybe you'll find it to your liking. The beaches are nice  .
