Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could provide information about new graduate programs on Oahu. I saw threads on this topic but nothing recently. I've been browsing the major hospital's websites, but I find it difficult to find the exact dates of applications. Any help about this topic or advice about for new grad nursing would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much!

They all basically only hire in-house, is what I was told.

Yep. Unless you're looking to work on the outer island.
All the major hospitals on Oahu have new grad programs that are only open to current employees. So you'll never see the applications posted and you won't be able to apply. You'll need to start working as an aide/tech/etc. first.

Is this true that all hospital facilities on Oahu have new graduate programs? The last time I looked into Kaiser in Moanalua, Wahiawa General, they don't have new grad programs.
The only facilities on Oahu that have new graduate RN programs, at least that I have heard of, are QMC and some of the Hawaii Pacific Health subsidiary facilities.

I believe Straub, Pali Momi, and Kapiolani (HPH) all have new grad programs. They also only hire in-house. Castle and Kaiser don't have new grad programs, but will sometimes train in-house new grads.

Here is the response I got from Kapiolani Hospital back in April.
"We thank you for your interest in employment opportunities with Hawai'i Pacific Health. We greatly appreciate your consideration in taking the time browsing our website for a job opening. At this time, we have very limited opportunities for New Graduate Nurses. All RN positions require at least one year of RN experience. What most are doing is they would apply for Nurse Aide or Clinical Assistant positions and then they would later apply for the new graduate RN program."
"I apologize for any miscommunication. The New Graduate RN program is for current employees only. In my previous e-mail, the suggested a route would be to apply for a Nurse Aide/Clinical Assistant position. Once hired in either of those roles, then you would be eligible to apply for the new grad RN program."
So you pretty much have to live and work there already...
