Just to let you guys (going to NETI in sept evening) that they are now under NEW direction. A lot of the problems that we had will not even pertain to you now. I hear that there is NO web classes for fall/06!!!!! That is 100% fantastic for you guys whether you think so or not. Good luck!!!!!

September will come around quickly. Nursing school may only come once in your life time unless you decide to further your education so seize EVERY opportunity if you can in lab and clinicals. Be very attentive to your instructors because they are Nurses' with the knowledge and experience, and also they have the power to make you or break you. Don't fall back on your assignments because they will keep coming and coming and coming..... And with my experience, GET A GOOD COMPUTER with a fast service so that you can access many websites when doing your research.

I am currently attending the day program at new britain, it is an extremely intense program, the key is memorization, and putting your thinking geared to more of the nursing applications toward the 3rd, 4th and 5th module of the program the 1 and 2 are basic anatomy and physiology, pharm, and lab simulations, this school is definately tougher than the other lpn programs in the state, and there is alot more involved in this program. advise is memorize, memorize , memorize, and be knowledgeble with the nursing applications of all aspects of the course. I looked into the program at NETI and I thought $28,000 was alot of money as well. Unfortunatly I cant afford that so I found a program for about $5,200! I wonder if there is a huge difference in the two programs. If they are both acredited LPN programs then why the $22,000 difference? Help!

No, there isn't a big difference...the program your probably enrolled in is a state funded program (tech school)... if it wasn't good , it wouldn't exist.

I went to NETI ....very $$$ but, I needed the nights & they were the only ones available. In the end it paid off, $25,000 , you can make that in 1/2 yourn yearly salary...I now graduated & work only 24 hr /week LTC rehab facility & make $25/hr plus extra's....you can pay your loan off ($200/month maximum if you couldn't afford the schools down payment). I first attempted the state program & it would have been less troubles if I had gone (so I've heard)...as long as the end result is your passing the boards (who care whee you acquired the knowledge)!

The most $$$ is NETI & they S#*K....I thought they were great yatta yatta yatta...well in relity , I graduated top in ,y class & they are horrible...but, tehy got me where I am now.

I attended the LPN Program at a state-run school (EC Goodwin in New Britain)... I know its too late now, but the state does have a evening program as well... and I would match my experience and knowledge at $5K with any new grad at $25K. Just my two cents :)

I was just wondering why would you have to travel 45 miles away from the New Britain campus when you have pleanty of LTC facilities and NBGH right there. Just wondering because I'm considering NETI . Thanks :nuke:

The reason being a few. Not all LTC's accept student nurses (I worked in several and never saw a student nurse but did see quite a few student CNA's). The other reason being, although they might allow student nurses to do clinicals in their facility, they might have other school's student nurses there so that facility wouldn't be (or don't want) able to handle ALL the schools with students at once.

I got a look at the clinical sites that the Shelton campus have been to, and almost all of them were within 10 miles from the school. Most being LTC's.

I was told that normally they don't go that far away but since its a possibility they have to inform you of the distance you could travel.
