NELRP is there a thread?

Is there already a thread for RNs waiting to hear about awards from the Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program?

When I search, I can only find previous year's threads.

Congrats!

Oh I hope you guys are right! We are not an underserved area though. We are a mental health HPSA though.. with a score of 15. My guess is that you got it because you are in a medically underserved area.

I think you are correct, I cannot pin point exactly where I heard this but I am pretty sure that you have to be in medically underserved area AND have a primary care/ mental health HPSA score because serving in medically underserved areas is the whole point of HRSA. Sorry :-(

Yeah, I assumed that being a disproportionate share hospital (getting medicaid funds) meant that we qualified as that... but maybe not anymore?

What really confuses me is my friend, who got this award last year - doesn't work at underserved hospital OR a primary care/mental health HPSA - but obviously is still getting payments this year. I guess I'm just meant to live off of Ramen noodles for the next 10 years :(

I have followed this thread since day 1!!! The support and good vibes have been amazing and have quietly supported me all along. I got my initial email on 9/7. I have been checking the portal like 3 times a day. I was so excited and then I got on the thread today and was quite bummed out when I read several people got their second signature like 20-30 days later.....scared that I would run out of time. :nailbiting: Well, after looking at the thread I took a chance and went to the portal...I got my second signature today :singing: I am excited but still nervous awaiting the hopeful next step. So from what I have read from the thread...second signature means yes? I truly hope so. I have applied for this 4 times....this is my first time with responses :) To all my fellow nurses....keep the positive thoughts and prayers going...it works!!!

This year's application process and requirements have changed drastically. I'm pretty sure that the HPSA score wasn't incorporated until this year. That would explain why your friend was awarded. I hope your luck takes a turn for the better, though.

Got my second signature electronicially today as well. First email was on 9/6. Guess now I can finally relax a little bit. LOL
