Hey yall, I'm really struggling right now in nursing school. We only had 4 exams this semester and 2 finals which are most of our grade. I had a bad exam in one class (66) and just recieved a grade of 68 on my other class exam. So I'm sitting at a 79.49 in one course and 79.46 in the second. 80 is passing in my program, and they will round if it's a 79.5. Calculating my grades in canvas I will need an 80 on both to move onto my last semester of nursing school. If not I have to wait til next fall to complete this semester again as its only offered one semester.
I need help with studying. One is basically a medsurg course and the other is psych nursing. I'm attaching the concepts I will be tested on. I don't know where to begin and I'm sick to my stomach with stress. Any advice I will take or stories of you being in a similar situation.

Good luck to you. You’ll be a great nurse someday.

You're not in a great position, so brace yourself for the worst. The good news is that you'll be allowed to retake the class if things don't go well.
It's difficult to answer questions about studying, because people have dramatically different ways of learning. For me, the most helpful thing was just reading the material ...initially, and again maybe the morning of the test (or the night before). I rarely knew all the right answers on any test, but I understood the concepts enough to guess correctly.
I've always hated study guides and taking notes, too. Study guides compartmentalize information too much, and notes distract me from paying attention to what's being said.
Some people are the exact opposite. You just have to think about what works for you.

Get a big book of study questions for NCLEX but be sure the one you get gives you not only the correct answers but the rationale for why the others are wrong. That will teach you a different way of thinking that will help you, and you can generalize a lot of it to other situations.
