Need some Pep Talk

Published

I recently started a online MSN graduate school in November. I did great in the first class. Classes are every 5weeks. However now I am struggling in the statistics part of my second class. I am passing by the hairs on my chinny chin chin. I'm just feeling so down because I did good in the first class. Passing is a 83%. And I have no idea what would happen if I don't pass. I'm just praying for the best.

Hang in there, take it day by day!!!!! I really can't offer much assistance in statistics!!!! Yuck!!.. But hang in there you can make it!!! Good Luck!!

Practice, practice, practice. Spend time working on word problems, figuring out the concepts, and applying them to real-life situations. Look at research to help you understand what is meant by a z-score and a t-test.

Please don't get discouraged. And try not to let the grade get in the way of your learning. I worked my tail off to get a "B" in graduate level statistics; I understand the concepts but am a bit more challenged trying to crunch the numbers. All in all, I feel that while I got a "B" in the course, I learned much more than I did in a couple of courses in which I got an "A" and didn't put in as much effort.

Sometimes graduate school seems to be an exercise in jumping through hoops. Think about what you want to get out of the course and try to satisfy your learning needs. Trying to keep my learning needs in mind has helped me enormously through grad school but, admittedly, sometimes I feel frustrated and discouraged, too.

You will get through this. Now, go get 'em!
