need a new att...?

I failed my first NCLEX attempt. I have paid the $200 through pearson vue. Is there anything further I should do? I thought maybe it was just taking them a while to send me my new ATT, but wanted to ask here in case I forgot to do something. I'm in FL.

I'm reading the BON website and it looks like I need to print out a paper application and mail it in along with a $50 fee. I've emailed them, but checking here in the meantime.

Most states you must reapply to the BoN. Clearly in FL you do

In FL you have to reapply on paper and submit the $50 via cashiers check. I'd go ahead and do it quickly as there are no exceptions and the next round of students graduate in December!

It depends on your state. Some states give you a time frame in which you must pass NCLEX when you receive your initial ATT. Other states make you re-apply each time.

One test per ATT nationwide. You must reapply for each exam. Whether there is a fee depends on state. CA & FL charge a retesting fee (in addition to PV registration fee of $200)

Probably a good place to note, for others reading this, that NO ONE should EVER register for an exam through PV without having an ATT in hand. Why? Because if there is any reason you will NOT be issued another Authorization To Test (as may be the case if a maximum number of attempts has been reached, or a maximum number of years, etc) then you have thrown away $200.

Pearson Vue is very clear that when you register for an exam, it is a non-refundable process. You ONLY register if you intend to TAKE that exam...and are authorized to do so!

Get the ATT....then register.
