Hello Everyone,

I am starting excl. very soon(was supposed to awhile ago;-) and I have to take ALL the classes so I was wondering if anyone can give me any kind of study schedule or any tips on getting through this program. I work 3-12 hr. daylight shifts and then some; I would appreciate any tips or advice.

thanks so much,

Hi, there!

I have noticed that your thread has not received any responses in a while, so I have moved it over to the Distance Learning forum with the hope that it might accrue replies. Good luck to you!

Everyone studies differently ... how quickly you move through the exams ultimately depends on you! I was soooooo slow to start, but my biggest breakthrough came when I realized that I had to schedule my exams in order to set a deadline for myself so I'd get serious about studying. I was able to complete A&P, NC1-NC7 (including NC2 because I'm a medic), and Microbiology between May and November of this past year. I actually became CPNE-eligible at the end of October, before I took Micro. I still have a couple of CLEP tests to take, but I'm currently awaiting a CPNE date.

I also work three 12's a week, as well as volunteering as a medic each week and doing some part-time graphic design work on the side. I just did a LOT of studying on my days off. My husband was understanding and supportive (but at the same time he's SO glad I'm done with the nursing concepts exams! Now I can practice my CPNE skills on him, ha ha.).

Good luck to you! You just have to decide that you're going to do it, and just DO IT! :D

thank you both for the responses and info!

Try to fit in any amount of study time you can.

One thing that I am doing for terms and vocabulary that u need to know is they have note cards that are on a spiral I write the word on one side and the definition on the other. Those can be keep in your purse or carried with you and can be pulled out and studied even in the waiting room of a doctor's office.

Even if you can only fit in 1 hr. at a time it is better than not studying at all. Do whatever you need to to get the study time in.

I am lucky I do HH and I get to study while the pt. sleeps I work 6pm to 4am.

Hope this helps
