Need help..please

Hi

I'm half way though my nursing studies. I just need some extra help from a registered nurse or anyone who would know any information, just on : How do the code of ethics and the code of professional conduct impact on nursing practice. Thank you

What are your thoughts? While we at AN are happy to help with homework, we will not do it for you. Tell us what you've got so far, what you're having trouble with, and we can help from there.

You really do need to grasp these concepts yourself instead of just copying someone else's opinions. A code of ethics and a code of professional conduct also impacts academic activities.

Hi, thanks for the replies. I do understand that i cannot use somebody else's words as my own, i was just asking for a little information so i could get an understanding of the question.

Like Rose Queen commented, you should have SOME ideas that we can help you refine & polish. You're "halfway through your nursing studies" so you should have some fundamental perspectives.

The same goes for your other post. That topic is critical to nsg practice so you should have some formulated ideas. And the literature is full of information.

WE are always happy to help...however, we ask that you tel us what your research has revealed to you.

A simple Google search revealed many credible resources for you....http://www.nursingworld.org/MainMenuCategories/EthicsStandards/CodeofEthicsforNurses/Code-of-Ethics.pdf

No tell me how you think it forms your nursing practice.

Your other thread you used the term enrolled nurse , what country are you from as EN is not used in US, Canada, UK, Philippines and others.

If AUS look at the guidelines posted online on APHRA or ANMC.

If NZ look at the NZNC website.

You should be able to find what you need there. Always when asking for guidance, share what you know or have found and we will be happy to direct you

If you want some background on US nursing, you should go to the bookstore (online or other) and get the ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice and the Code of Ethics With Interpretive Statements. There's a reason your faculty gave you this assignment, and it has to do with your seeking out and understanding these references, because they will be the foundation of your professional practice for the rest of your working life.

So... other than going to AN and hitting "Send," what other resources have you used to help you form an opinion?

Thank you for the reply's. Yes I am from australia. As for texts and resources i have nursing ethics and ethics and law for health professions, i have read over them both but nothing is really coming together. So i guess for my answer all i have so far is - what is at stake in the outcome, and what values are to be respected? For nurses to hold a professional manner?

Another simple Google search revealed.....Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - Codes and Guidelines

and....http://www.nmc-uk.org/Documents/Standards/nmcTheCodeStandardsofConductPerformanceAndEthicsForNursesAndMidwives_LargePrintVersion.PDF

Now look at these documents and tell us what you think....how do these affect your nursing practice for you?

What do you think so far? Any thoughts at all?
