So here's the case.Im here in USA for a fiancee visa, but me and my husband are going back to Phil for me to take a nursing course. I need to know what are the different examinations to take right after i graduate in Phil ? Also do I need to take the board exams in Philippines? And if i dont take the board exams in Phil or whatever are the other test can I take a job here in USA?cause anytime i could come back here petitioned by my husband. Plus the board exams in Phil does really count here in USA??Does it needed?
Also I would like to highlight what are those examinations/test that I'll be taken to be a registered nurse?aside from the board exams in Philippines ???I've already called some hospitals here and they said that I need to take the state board exam which is NCLEX.but they cant say if I have to be a board passer way back to my country. so need help..hope someone could give me the Procedures and what are the right things to do ....???

I can see why that would all be very confusing. Sorry I can't help you, but I wanted to suggest you post this in the 'International' forum. I think you'll get more advice there.
Good luck!

I think that you had better ask the Phillipines if their grades for their nursing exams apply to the USA. Somehow, I don't think so, but I never had to deal with that, so, I am a bad source. Good luck.

As of this moment, the Philippine Nursing License is not a requirement for you to sit for the NCLEX. If you are going to work in the USA and you are sure that you don't need it, you can skip the Philippine Nursing Licensure exam. Apart from passing the NCLEX, what you might need is the CGFNS exam (if the State where you'll work requires it) or a CES (which is an evaluation of your documents/grades).

And I will throw in my two cents:
If you go back to the Philippines to go to nursing school, please be aware that it will be a four year program that you are going to need to go thru there, only two years if you complete it in the US.
With the fiance visa, you have three months to get married, or it becomes invalid..........you would need to be petitioned again, more than likely if the 90 days are up.
I suggest that you speak to an immigration attorney before you leave. More than likely, you will need to begin the immigration process again, and there may be issues since you came on one and then did not marry.
AS fas as exams, you will definitely need the NCLEX exam, and more than likely will also need to do the English exams by then. It has been in discussion not to wave them for any nurses coming over that would have been required to do them if applying for their own visa. Imagine that four years from now, it will be the law.
HEY THANK YOU SO much!!! acctually im a graduate of education major in Biology in MSU-IIt.Mindanao state of university. But i've talked to some of the staff in Cebu college they said, still I'll be taking the 4 years course of nursing even Im a second courser. But maybe some of my subject will be credited .So u mean u didnt take the Board exam in Phil? which part are u n US?? So its possible to get a work here in the state even u didnt take the board exam in Phil?? So u dont have job yet here? Maybe being a dentist does matter for u not to take the local board exam in Phil??hmmm.... So ya Im concern if I DO NOT take the local board exam inPhil well i get a job here in US? Also, I know that we only have 4 years nursing course in Phils right? unlike here we can study a nurse for just 2 years and then maybe got a job. So if graduate in Phil for 4 years course of nursing WILL I BE A REGISTERED NURSE HERE when i get a job in the hospital, considering i'll pass the Nclex???? Cause theres a difference between an LPN and RN .....but in Philippines there is only One the "4 years course"...so Is that a registered NUrse (RN)already here??? And if not?? How can I be a RN here?what are the things to do?:wink2:
Hey thank you.hope u can reply me soon...really appreciated ur help..thanks! So still confused...
Oh really??? So u mean I can get a job here in US even NOT taking the local board exam in Phil?? But of course I need to take the NCLEX here. So the local board exam doesnt much apply here in US?? Cause Not being so negative. but I've heard that a lot of nursing graduate in Phil haven't pass the board exam and those others examinations. Cause Im afraid that Im going back to Phil and taking the risk of taking the nursing course and not passing the local board exam.Which in my thoughts that if U cant pass the local board exam then theres no way for me to get a job here in US?? So if thats the case that i can skip the philippine nursing licensure exam then maybe its a lot better?? I mean less for everything?? Whewww...well I dont know.....hmmmm....
My husband wanted me to study in Phils because aside its a lot cheaper there ,we wanted to stay in Phil for a while.
And by the way, did u study in Phil???In which Part? Just wanna know, is the teaching skill of any school in phil are worth it?

You are not an RN in the US until you take and pass the NCLEX-RN exam. The BSN is required from the Philippines for licensure in the US as an RN, but it doesn't give you automatic status, you still need to pass the NCLEX.
Be aware that if you go back to the Philippines for four years, you are going to be close to losing the green card, it has a residency requirement on it to maintain permanent resident status.
And again, since you are a Philippine citizen, and if they do put the two year mandatory restriction on staying there to work, you will have to do that. And I suspect that it is going to happen in the next year or two. I am sure that others do not agree with me on this, but I see it coming. Especially after all of the issues with the NLE exam this past summer, and then issues with cheating on the CGFNS exam, as well as the NCLEX exams.
Even the CGFNS handbook for the VSC has now devoted an entire page to it, and it used to be just a few lines, this is all new. AQnd recently added.

you could lose your green card if you went back to the phil, as green card holders have to stay here to keep it. if you and your husband go to the phil, then you both risk losing your green cards.
just take the nursing course here. you can take the AD, BSN or MSN and it will only take you 2 years. plus, hospitals wont be too scared to hire you bec they know you were trained based on US standards. too much politicking in phil, arent you at all afraid that you can get mangled in it?
in case you do decide to go back, at present you need to pass the cgfns and/or nclex, file for visa screen, and pass ielts/toefl. you dont have to take the NLE to take the NCLEX.
but things can change, especially 4 years in the future, youll never know. they might even stop sponsoring foreign nurses as the current movement in the US is accomodate more nursing students. all im saying is youre already here. people would kill to be in your shoes.
