Need Advice!!

I am currenty employed on an oncology unit-i recently took some time off close to about 3 months because i took the nclex but did not pass it. Prior to that i worked their about 2 1/2 months with a preceptor. Now that I passed the NCLEX I called my manager and told her the good news. She told me she would give me 3 days with a preceptor and I would be on my own after that! Do you guys think that is fair? I worked my first night last night and don't think I am ready to be on my own just yet!

I with I can just start all over again fresh and new but I know I can't.

Is it fair for me to ask for more time? Or should I just be on my own and go with the flow? I am so nervous!! :o

Thanks for the input!!

Ask her if it would be possible to stay with a preceptor for a little bit longer. One thing to keep in mind though is that you are never truely alone. A friend of mine told me that when I was feeling concerned about being on my own. She told me that you will always have someone there that you can go to with questions and concerns.

If you don't feel ready to be on your own...I would ask for more time with a preceptor...After my time was suppose to be over...I told my mgr I was not ready to be on my own...So she let me have a few more weeks...then I did not pass my Hospital PBDS test the second time...so she put me on orientation for a few more months...I've been at the hospital almost 8 months and will go solo tomorrow night... I feel like a dummy telling that...but I do know I feel a little better about going on my own tomorrow.
