I've taken my NCLEX 2 times now... I take it for the third time next Thursday. I honestly have no idea what to do at this point to pass. I want to so bad (obviously) and i'm worried about my job situation if I don't. Does anyone have any tips, advice, ideas... anything. I just have no clue how to pass this thing!

Hi and welcome to the site

I have moved this to the NCLEX forum where I am sure you will find many hints and tips plus support from people studying and struggling.

Good luck

Well, you don't have much time before Thur! What has been your study plan in the past and how have you changed it this time? How many hours do you spend, how many questions per day? have you taken a review course? Let us know a little about what you have done and how you think you are doing now.

The first time I had the Saunders book...and only that book. So I did that, answered lots of questions etc. The second time I got the Kaplan book and did that... answered more questions. Now i'm about to take it for the third time. It's not a matter with answering questions. I need to know HOW to answer them not information. Like ABC's, Maslow etc. When I narrow it down to 2 questions which one is the right one? I just don't think my brain thinks right.

It is understanding what they are looking for, if you managed to get it down to 2 then look at ABC's and prioritizing them

I think my mind has just given up because i'm so upset that I still haven't passed. For me a lot of it is mental. Also, I didn't do well with infection control. Any help for that??

What you had on the last exam has no bearing on this one, they are not related in anyway.

Suggest that you check out the first tip of my program at the top of this forum and if you do not feel ready for next week, then delay your exam.

I read your post. I agree with Suzanne 100%. If you feel you are not ready please do yourself a favor and extend your test date. Again this is a very personal decision and only you will have the last call. Moreover should you be in a time constraint where you feel that you are against the clock as your ATT is soon to expire I would stongly suggest a book that I learned about here in this site. The Book is Titled: Prioritization, Delegation and Assignment by author Linda A. Lacharity. Its a soft cover book which you can purchase in Barnes and Noble for $24.95. Unless you order via Amazon express shipping you should buy it in person. This book is magnificent for practice style question on Prioritization and delegation. I have sat for the NCLEX 3 times and I have encountered many of these questions. Please should you decide to continue with your scheduled date keep us informed of how you did.

Best of Luck to my friend.
