NCLEX on 1/30 very scared!

Published

I have read many posts and my concerns are not different from others except that I dont have a 4.0 GPA, I had a 3.2. And I didnt pass Mosbys CAT-RN with a 99%, I got an 82% probability of passing the NCLEX. I also have been averaging between 60 - 70% on my Kaplan question trainer and Q-bank. I didnt struggle through nursing school but now my confidence level is very low and it seems that many of the people posting are very bright when it comes to their practice tests. Is there anyone that is just average that passed the NCLEX? I am just freaked out, everything is getting shut off in my house one by one, I have two sons and borrowing money from every direction to buy groceries, I am running out of resources and passing this test is my chance to survive. If I dont pass I dont know what will happen to my family so the pressure is overwhelming me. I study daily and take between 100 - 250 questions a day. I almost feel burnt out on questions already. When I took the Mosby CAT today and it came up 82% I was very bummed especially since one person wrote they got 99%. Well reading all the posts does encourage me and I am so happy for all the people that have passed. Pray for me too...........................

Hi Serenityrn2b!

to start, you chose a very nice user id...calmness and with a confidence that you will be an RN.:) Focus on that. Believe and you will have it. I passed nclex last month and I struggled during review. I get 60%-70% from Saunder's and yes that made me question my chances of passing. But then I've read posts of nclex passers having same % as I do and they passed. So instead of sulking on my average % I focused more on my review, kept on believing that I'll be an RN and prayed alot. At the rate you are going with your daily Q&As, you will conquer nclex and win. Have faith. You'll be in my prayers.

And by the way, Congratulations in advance!:balloons:

hugs&kisses:p

I have now taken Boards twice, once for LPN and also RN. Everyone thinks that they won't pass. I have known many of nurses that had a much lower percent than you and they passed. I sounds as though you are preparing well for the test. Try to stay calm and think positive thoughts. You will do great. The night before the test try to get a good night sleep and take your time during the test. Good luck to you and keep us updated.

I sincerely hope you pass and find out your results as quickly as possible. I will pray for you and your children. Remember, the odds are good that you will pass. The majority of people pass on the first try. Many "average" people pass the NCLEX. Don't get hung up on your GPA. It is just a number and not always reflective of how much you really learned - that is what is important. Good luck and please keep us posted!

The first thing I did this morning was of course get on the computer and start studying but first I checked my email and I just wanted to say it is nice to start the day out with a smile. :specs: . Thank you for your positive replys. You know how dorky I am? I have been eating tuna daily and taking gingko biloba just to make sure. I am getting pretty tired of tuna. :chuckle

Hi, I just have to say that you WILL be an RN soon!!!!!!! I think as nursing students we are so used to having to get such a HIGH percent on our tests to pass in school, not to say that the NCLEX is not going to be hard, however with regard to your scores on Kaplan and Saunderss 60-70% will be enough to pass nclex. I am in the same boat as you, just yesterday I received my email saying that the board of nursing received my $$ and that my ATT will be here soon. I actually felt sick when I read it. My scores are not great on these pretests either, so now I am trying the comprehensive saunders way of studying and I am so overwhelmed with information I feel even sicker.:imbar I just wanted to give you positive vibes because this is half the battle of going into this insane nclex test. Good luck and I will be following your success on allnurses. :)

Hi,

You will pass! Trust and believe that God never fails;pray for strength, guidance and wisdom. You made it through nursing school and you can do this too! I will pray for you.

peace

I feel the exact same way. When I got anything in the mail from BRN or my ATT I just thought I would be sick. And while I am studying now there is so much information to retain. Just because I learned it in nursing school doesnt mean I remember it all. I find myself reviewing something and 5 minutes later say to myself " What did I just read, great I forgot already". Thank you for your kind positive words. I am sure you will do just fine also.

Wow. My heart reaches out to you SerenityRN2b. I hope one day, when I am sick, I can have you as my nurse to remind me how common and terrible this dread and fear of failing, of not surviving, truly is. i pray you will blast NCLEX butt out of the water. since you're taking ginkgo you will appreciate this small bit- every 45 minutes of the NCLEX i took a break and stood on my head for a minute or so. hoping that the fresh O2 would do my neurons some good. let's hope it did - i get my results tomorrow! let's pray for each other.

all the best, shayna in cleveland, ohio:imbar

Shayna, I just wanted to say I will be praying for you tonight and I cant wait to get the good news that you passed tommorow. Thanks for your words of encouragement. It really helps.

i feel the same way! i am so terrified of this test! every morning, i get up and sit at my computer reviewing content and then taking practice tests. i usually score around 65% and want to die! i get so discouraged! i have been studying for 2 months straight and my scores have remained the same. i have reviewed so much content that i feel my head is going to explode! i took the comprehensive ati predictor the last week of nursing school and got a 63%, which predicted that i had a 91% chance of passing the nclex. i was ok with it until i asked all my other classmates what they got and they all received 99% pass rates. so, i signed up for virtual ati (which i hate) but gave me a good review of content and now i'm onto kaplan review. hopefully kaplan will give me the critical thinking skills i need to get better scores. i hope! good luck to you. i will be taking my test a day before you, i will be thinking and praying for you! i hope normal people can pass!

i take NCLEX 2/1 and I feel your pain. When I logged on to pearson to sign up my heart started racing and I asked my friend to hold my hand as i set the date in stone. I know, Im crazy.

But dont feel bad about your questions, I did well in nursing school too and I keep having not so encouraging practice test scores. On top of that I was freaking out about finding a job. It all started to affect my sleep schedual soo I schedualed in some relax time and threw job searching out the window until this test is done.

One good thing is that the same crappy scores we feel bad about now, were the same ones I had before my exit HESI and that went very well. So maybe its just our motivation to brush up on our weak spots.

And thank God for graduation gifts! Because of a wonderful friend I get to have a free massage the day before the test :)
