NCLEX questions...

Published

* everytime you get a correct answer the questions gets harder....

question 1. how many difficulty levels are there in an nclex exam..?

3 levels?? easy, moderate, difficult?

4 levels?? easy, normal, moderate, difficult? and so on....

* how do they determine if a question is easy, moderate, or difficult??? one can be difficult for you and very easy for me....

OR they determine it in the 15 unscored exam??? if the general population (nclex test takers ) got it more correct then its considered easy... and if not its considered difficult.

* they say that if you get a prioritization type question then its considered high level question... i think not all.. same goes to the computations( i guess some of it would be moderate difficult) i didnt have any computations in my exam..[*

and do you think knowledge based questions are all easy to moderate??? or it can also be difficult????

i just took the nclex exam 2 weeks ago and still waiting for the result... and i felt like the last 20 questions were mostly knowledge based/ PRIO... and most of them i could still remember.

after the test i felt like i passed... but now i think i failed its like its too good to be true to have easy questions.. i have medications s/e and adverse effect that are so common. or maybe because i have read and memorized it.. and actually i thought that the exam is not so difficult( few minutes after the exam)... i think its a bad sign..

i studied 8-10 hours a day... sometime it would go for 14 hours.. 7 days a week with no rest day.. answered almost all available CD-rom questionnaires and books ( saunders compre, Q and A and alternate formats. ( finished them all ) and studied in a review center . i think it would be devastating for me if i fail...

if i fail im planning to read nursing journals... localy and internationally published, past and present issues... i had a few questions in the exam that cant be found in the book.

Just have faith and confidence in yourself that you did the very best that you could do. It sounds like you were prepared. It's must be so hard to wait this long. Luckily I had quick results, but really, try to stay positive and just know you did your best. Good luck to you!!:icon_hug:

The 15 questions that are considered 'test or trial ' questions never count, and they are not added into how you do on the exam. They are selected before you even write the exam as they will not count, so no reason to focus on them. There is also no way to determine which are one of the 15.

There is also no way to determine how many harder level questions that one will get, each exam is done on an individual basis and each question assigned to you is based on how you answered the previous question.

Since you are from the Philippines and do not have your results as of yet, suspect that you wrote the exam for CA. If this is true, then suggest that you have a good read on the International Forum as to what you are going to need to do since CA does not issue a license without a SSN# and you are going to have only three years to give them one or your file will be destroyed and that includes your results.

Best of luck to you.

Math questions are usually considered to be of a lower level, priority questions usually of a higher level.

The exam knows what would have been covered in your nursing program and is not interested on testing you on that information again; rather it wants to know what you will do in a certain situation with the material that you have already learned.

And for others that are reading here, it is always best never to prepare full-time for this exam and all day everyday, your brain will not retain all that you do. I never recommend more than three hours per day or so, or it goes in one ear and out the other as we say over here.

Best of luck to you on your exam, and do hope that you have passed it.
