hi suzanne, i posted an old thread long time ago regarding if i still need to take NLE for my application on NCLEX-RN at CA BRN.
i went back CA right after graduation, so obviously i didn't take the June NLE.
then applied for NCLEX-RN June 25 2008
then just Sep 5 i went back here Philippines to take the Nov NLE, because i called CA BRN regarding my application and they told me to wait for 24 weeks from the day i sent all my application, so i was so desperate on what to do. and i know because of the news that starting Jan 2008 CA BRN are now requiring license from the country they graduated from.
last friday, September 12 (Philippines) i went to Baguio City and filed my papers for PRC stuff.
and my Dad called me satruday Sep 11 (US) from CA that my letter of eligibilty has arrived from CA BRN.
Now i am so confused if i still need this NLE or what since i can now proceed to take NCLEX-RN and register for NCLEX and pearsonvue.

since your here in philippines why not take as well the nle. the reason you came here is for the nle and since you filed already at prc why not you push thru with it so that your effort of coming here will not be futile and youll gain something when you return back to california.:loveya:
Thanks for the reply =)
anyhow, yes i thought of going for NLE too, but i will just be staying here up to Feb and probably not later January. what im thinking is to enroll in a nclex-rn review center because its different in CA where they just have 8 sessions while here in baguio they have 3 months review and live lectures.

Just because they have given you permission to sit the exam does not mean anything as Ca will allow you to sit NCLEX with an incomplete file but will not release results until everything is in and they do require local license

I would take the exam, especially since you just applied this summer for the CA license, and this rule has been in effect since last January. You could have been given approval to sit for the exam by mistake and then you would be out of luck when your file is reviewed before license is issued.
As long as you are able or permitted to write the NLE, then that requirement is not waived for you.
Best of luck on your exams.
