NCLEX Help!!

Published

Hello everyone, I need some advice about retaking NCLEX. I graduated Dec 2018 and scheduled to take the NCLEX on March 9. I thought it was enough time but apparently it wasn’t. I accepted a new job as a RN in January. I worked a lot of at the job but I didn’t think it would affect my study time but it did. I only used Uworld, did about 800 questions out of 2,000. I figured I would pass because some of my classmates told me they didn’t do many questions from uworld and they passed. I did the “trick” when I got in my car and it was bad, 3 days later I got my official results and I failed. Any advice about the 2nd time I really would appreciate it.

Hi,

Just curious, what's the "trick" in the car?

I'm so sorry to hear that. You WILL pass NCLEX though; just remember how hard you've worked this entire time.

Maybe do more Uworld questions? Focus on prioritization, select all that apply. I set out to do about 50 questions a day while I prepared for NCLEX, and I made sure I understood the rationales behind all the questions, regardless of whether I had them correct or not. I also listened to Mark Klimek lectures and they were SO helpful.

Good luck to you! Finishing nursing school is a huge accomplishment. I'm sure you'll look back in 5 years, and see this as a minor obstacle; something in life that made you stronger.

I think she means the Pearson Vue Trick. She tried it in the car.

@EllaGirl it’s the Pearson Vue Trick.

@andreaest, ADN, RN thank you so much and where do I listen to Mike Klimek videos?

I purchased a 30$ subscription to NRSNG academy. I used their NCLEX study plan and did about 1500 questions in the 3 weeks I used to prep. Took NCLEX yesterday and passed.

The questions on Academy really prepared me. Topics I was weak on (which the app helps you determine) you can review their complete lectures on the topics.

You can pass. I wanted to puke after I had 33 SATA (new alternative format questions) but I made it and you can too. Good luck, please update us.

I did Uworld as well when I took my NCLEX two and a half years ago. What really helped me was doing ALL the questions and remediating each one of them. I was fortunate enough to not have any other obligations at the time, so I did all the questions in three weeks. I divided how many questions I needed to do every day to finish in that time period. I would do the questions in the morning and remediate in the afternoon and took weekends off to relax. It was a daunting task, but when I took my NCLEX there were so many similarities to the questions in Uworld that I was in disbelief. When using Uworld as your sole study tool, it is possible to pass without doing all the questions, but the more you know the better prepared you will be. I'm sure there are other question banks and tools that are helpful but I feel like Uworld was the most helpful for me.

How did you feel about the NCLEX overall? I take mine on 4/30 and have U world!! Freaking out lol
