  1. Hi, Just curious, what's the "trick" in the car?
  2. Just curious what the update is on your decision to become a HH nurse. I also live in Hawaii and am considering applying for a HH position. How do you like it? What is a typical week like?
  3. I just started...about a month. I also did something last week that might have thrown me off- I worked 5 in a row. I'm never doing that again! How long did it take you to adjust Humglum?
  4. I just started nights, and I work wed, thurs, fri 7p-7a. I absolutely love nights and I'm able to stay awake during the shift. I can also easily fall asleep when I get home, and sleep from 8am to 4pm. On my first morning off, I will force myself to get up by 3pm and go to bed at midnight. Sometimes I have trouble falling asleep, sometimes I don't. On other days off after working, I sleep till noon every time (which ends up being 10+ hours of sleep)! I hate this because I love waking up at 10am, but I'm so tired, I want to sleep til noon or later. Then, I'm so tired the entire day, I feel foggy. Any advice for a new RN working nights?
  5. I took mine in Fresno on the 17th and I found out early this am. The date of issue was this am. You can always call the board and ask them if they have all your transcripts, although they told my friend they had hers, and they didn't- she had to wait a month before she found out she passed....Don't lose faith!!!
  6. 1- I studied for about a month a couple hours a day 2- I took Kaplan and bought the Hurst book, my Kaplan Q bank average was 64%, and question trainer scores ranged from 48% to 63% 3- I really studied drugs, diabetes management, autonomic dysreflexia, Lithium levels and I memorized ALL lab values. 4- I was scared crapless from the time I answered my first question until I found out I passed 3 days later. 5- I answered 183 questions before it shut off. No math, 1 select all that apply, lots of teaching and "who would you see first" questions. I was certain I failed... 6- Hardest part of the test was prioritizing. Kaplan teaches you to use ABC's however, I got questions where all answers would have to do with circulation, or all would be airway...It was tough. Just don't read into the question and assume that all patient's are serious. 7- Different NCLEX books will give different lab values- I studied the values from Kaplan 2008 book. Hope this gives some comfort to those who took it and thought they failed!
  7. hooray! congrats! I haven't found out yet, but hopefully soon....
  8. I hope I find out soon- I'm in California so I'm no eligible for quick results. I took Kaplan and they teach you to look for certain answers, or atleast there's a pattern with their questions. Well, on the exam, it was really hard to determine what the correct answer was. Fore example, when prioritizing I would use my ABCs but all the answers would have to do with circulation...Ahhhh!
  9. OMG! I took mine on 2/17/09 (yesterday)! I got between 185 and 190 questions. I cried in the shower because I think I failed. It was really hard! I went in with confidence and that all went away after the first question. Lots of priority, discharge questions, but I also got lots of knowledge based questions too. I didn't get any math, and I only got 1 select all that apply. Lots of diseases and a couple weird meds. I'm so nervous! So, I hope this makes you feel better that I'm in the same boat as you right now...Let me know if you find out. Lots of luck..
