NCLEX 4000 is confusing me... question

The question says:

Patient was infected with MRSA, to prevent the spread of MRSA, the nurse knows she must:

1-maintain sterile technique at all times

2-wear a mask for caring for the client

3-give the patient an I.V. dose of antibiotics

4-keep a mask on the client

Correct answer is 2

Why do you need to wear a mask while in a private room with a MRSA patient? it makes no sense to me unless there's fluid are going to splash on you, and that's when you wear a shield.

right?

Right mrsa is contact

Makes no sense when MRSA is contact precautions :o

right?

if you really think of it..out of the 4 questions only option 2 is the credible one..remember apart from contact,,you will need to use standard precaution. and still option 2 is the best choice out of the 4

eliminate 1&3 because they have nothing to do with preventing the spread of mrsa

what about 4 why would you need mask?theres is nothing on the stem/body of the question that telling you that a mask is required.

so that leaves you with optin 2 although i agree this is poorly created question
