NCLEX CERTIFICATE

Published

Hi everyone,

Recently i have been searching for job openings on the net for nurses and i have found several staffing agencies requiring an NCLEX Certificate. Do you guys have any idea as to where to get this? You see, i have passed the NCLEX exam last august and i have received a letter from the BON of California requiring me to submit my SSN which then i do not have yet. But that's all, i received only one letter from them and i haven't got any NCLEX certificate yet (proof that i have passed the NCLEX in California). Please enlighten me up.

Thank you very much and God Bless us all.

The letter should be enough as long as it states you passed NCLEX. Many states do not issue a certificate only license and for some like CA only if you have a SSN.

Be aware, not sure what experience you have but unless you already have a visa allowing you to work in the US or you are specialised and meet H1b requirements and hospital will petition H1b then you have a long long wait ahead of you

I'm also seeing postings that specifically state that you must already reside (permanent resident) in the US in order to apply for the job.

hello everyone,

If I am not mistaken, it's the certificate that you have to request to CALBON with a payment of 10USD. It's a certificate with your Pearson Vue photo that you have passed the NCLEX examination. All informations like file number, date you took the exam, place, etc. with your photo in that certificate. You have to write a letter to CALBON to issue you a copy of that certificate.

Hope you're enlightened.

its not the pearson vue confirmation pass result.. some state or us teritory issue a certificate the one that looks like the diploma like in the state teritory where i applied for exam they sent me a board certificate after passing with god seal on it bearing my name , license number and other usual thing on it.

Hi! I also have a question which is somewhat similar and instead of starting a new thread i'll just post it here hoping our knowledgeable admins may answer it for me. You see, i passed the Cali NCLEX exam last 2007 and my letter/certificate of passing will expire on June since i cant get have an SSN. What is the best course of action i should take? Could i use my California certificate of passing to "obtain" a license in a different state which do not require an SSN, say, Vermont? I need some information regarding this please. I can't afford to take the NCLEX Exam again. thanks and God Bless.

You have 2 choices, either ask for and hope you get a extension on your file (we have had members get extension with no problems) or apply for license by exam in another state and get your NCLEX results forwarded

I too am caught out with the California Nursing Board hassle of not having a SSN. I found out they're not the best place to go through AFTER I'd already applied! :smackingf

From what I understand, now that I've passed NCLEX, my best option is to apply at another nursing board that does not require a SSN - does anyone know which boards out there still issue the licence with no SSN? Or am I going to have to go through each and every state looking? It's so frustrating being caught in this annoying cycle - need a job to get visa to get SSN, need licence to get job, need SSN to get licence, need job to get SSN....ugh!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

For a work visa you need several years paid experience and a bachelors in a specialized field. As someone pointed out the job has to require a minimum of a bachelors degree in order to qualify for a H1b visa. New grad RN doesn't qualify for a H1b visa.

Right now with the economy the way it is, there is no need to import when our own new grads are having issues finding a job. You might want to consider going to another country. I'm unsure if the immigration process will be easy, but it may be easier but you may find work. Good Luck

Honestly a SSN can wait until you are in the US with a legal work/immigrant visa. I would say it is important to protect your NCLEX results and most states will keep your results and issue a license once a SSN has been issued to you. CA is as far as I am aware the only one to destroy your file if you do not provide them with a SSN within 3 years. many states now require some proof of legal residency before issuing a license
