Hi:)

can any one help me out with NCLEX books,am using Saunders 4th edition, what are the other important must read nclex books.how many questions an NCLEX candidate should solve to train in nclex exam.

The prioritization book by Linda LaCharity and the Kaplan review book for test taking strategies are used by many successfully, in addition to the Saunders Comprehensive Review.

I agree... Lacharity's Prioritization book is a must. I think they are coming out with a new version for the nclex that was out feb 2010 or something like that.

I only used Saunder's as my reference book. I read the book cover to cover and I passed with it. But it really depends on you, if you think you can easily understand its content then don't force yourself on other books. You'll end up scratching your head because some books differ from the other like normal values, etc. GOODLUCk

Anyone pls help. I used saunders 3x already and I am familiar with the questions from it.Should I use it again ?any advise?

thanx for the advice,i ordered prioritization book by Linda LaCharity,if i able to study Saunders then i will go for Kaplan.but no body said the no. of questions an NCLEX candidate should solve to to get train in exam.

roze i think Saunders 3rd edition is also good as 4 th,do different types of question from different books not only Saunders,GOOD LUCK

The LaCharity book is really good, I'd definitely recommend that one. Saunders is highly recommended by many but I didn't like it at all. I found it very difficult to read and didn't feel the content was always appropriate to answering the questions. I really liked the Kaplan RN course book that came with their review course. If you don't want (or can't afford) to take the course, you can likely buy the book used online somewhere.

I felt the NCLEX closely resembled Kaplan in both style and content. I had a number of priority and delegation questions as well so LaCharity was worth the money and time I invested in it.

Most people say 100 questions a day and that you want 2500 questions minimum. Personally I did the Kaplan trainers and little else. I wouldn't recommend that to others but fortunately it worked out for me. There are some Kaplan videos that have guided review of questions (takes you through the thought process of answering the questions) and I watched two chapters worth of those (maybe 100 questions total?) which I found very helpful. How much a person needs depends a lot on the person. If you are a good test taker, did well in school and graduated recently then you may not need as much review as someone who struggled in school, has trouble with tests and graduated a few years ago.
