NCC Fall 2020

Hey everyone! I didn't see a thread for Nassau Community College (NCC) Fall 2020 Applicants. I figured why not get one started!

I'd like to see what the pool of applicants are looking like.

My Stats:

I'm not a Nassau Resident.

I've never been in any nursing program.

ENG 101: C+

ENG 102: B+

STATS: C

AP 1: B

AP 2: B

GEN PSYCH: A

LIFESPAN: A

BIOMED: B+

MED MICRO: B

PATHO: B

I also have multiple electives with a grade of A

Current NCC GPA: 3.4

Combined GPA w/ other college: 2.97 (If I calculated it correctly!)

** Can anyone tell me if they know of anyone applying with a GPA of 2.97?! I feel like this is what will ruin my chances of applying. :(**

That’s probably just the financial aid office. Your probably just admitted to NCC that’s why they sent that. We should hopefully be receiving acceptance letters some time next week or beginning of May!

That makes sense! Crossing my fingers for earlier than May!

I got a letter In the mail about being accepted. I wonder if anyone is in the same boat and has a portion of the classes already completed because some were pre requisites for other programs. I am curious how the program would deal with that. Otherwise I am super excited to be going to this program.

CONGRATS! I thought emails were the way NCC told everyone. Now I will be checking my mailbox as much as my email!

LOL! I’ll be standing outside waiting for my mailman. He better be coming with good news!???

Were you accepted into the nursing program or the school as a whole? My understanding was this was always done via email.

I thought the same thing too. Maybe they are sending info packets for the following steps after being accepted?

I just received an acceptance letter to Nursing-AS (Evening) program through the mail. I'm a little confused on if they still have the AS only or if this is the joint program since that's what I applied for. Either way super happy! Anyone have any insight on this?

It’s a joint program. You complete your AS first and sit for your NCLEX. You then continue your BSN with Empire online.

Nice! I’m hoping mines delayed since I’m in Virginia! Did you happen to get an email from financial aid a few days ago? I’m developing a theory!

Yes I did on the 15th! At first in March I got an email saying I wasn't in an approved program on study yet, but this most recent one said I should get my FA package in July and then at the bottom says "we look forward to seeing you this fall semester"

I got a big envelope with a student guide to enrollment with the acceptance letter
