Mt Sac Spring 2010

Ok, this sucks. I would like to know my wait list # asap because I am an alternate for RCC. They do not have a wait list. I will be attending their orientation Dec 17 and they say I may get a spot because sometimes students accept an offer elsewhere. If I do get a spot with RCC, I don't know if I will take it or not because I would rather wait a year for MTSAC. RCC is on a point system and you have to reapply.

I have spoke with some students at Mtsac and they love it there and Mtsac is a lot closer. Thanks for replying about the dates. I will be patient.

Hey. I'm also starting Spring 2010 at Mt. Sac. I'm a little worried about the Hesi exam because I haven't taken classes in a few years. When did you take the exam and do you know if the book you got is still current?

HESI is not too difficult. There's a study guide out there but honestly, I didn't really prepare anything for it. Just make sure you know how to do math questions and maybe review some basic physiology. When I took it, everyone seemed to do fine (not too great but not too bad either). I don't remember anyone being remediated for having a low score. I guess you really have to have a VERY low score for them to give you a remediation.

There are tons of chapter to read for 1A (and 1B).My professor for both 1A and 1B was one of the best instructors I've had (not just for nursing). Take her clinicals too! Besides these 2 classes, there's Pharmacology. The 1st half is all math and the 2nd half is medication. Of course, the med half is more difficult. Some people didn't like the prof. I had for the med half but I had no problem with him. I think he's pretty good. One quiz every week (for each class), so make sure you study and don't fall behind. 1A is mostly CNA stuff. 1A clinical was easy. No one failed (in my class).

I was wondering if there were any books I should look into getting to get myself prepared for the program. I start spring 2010, I have seen people suggest a dosage calculation book to practice. Is there a particular one that any of you in the program would recommend?

I am going to take the HESI admission exam on the 17th at Mt. Sac and I was wondering what is the test about and if the Hesi evolvereach admission assessment book is any good to help me prep for this exam. Please help me to give me an idea for preparation for this exam.

The HESI is not hard at all. Just get the HESI A3 study guide, and you will be fine. The A&P portion is the most difficult. The English and math portion is very basic.

hi guys, i applied to mt. sac march 2010 and i still haven't recieved my number. i'm curious to know how long you guys waited to get accepted. i get a heart attack every time i see a post that says "i've been waiting for more than 2 years". thanks for your reply!
