MSN transfer classes

i would suggest that you retake some of your undergraduate classes, like the science ones. the two schools that i am in the application process won't offer an interview if you don't meet all the requirements, and one of them is a gpa (undergrad) greater than 3.0 if you retake some of your science classes, it might boost your undergrad gpa, but other than that i don't have any other suggestions....sorry & good luck.

as per my computation, it would take 40 credit hours with a 4.0 grade for each subject just to raise that gpa to the minimum of 3.0. after that 40 credit hours, i would still be at the bottom of the list of applicants for interview. i might as well take a whole msn degree which is just 39 credit hours. hmmm...

Holy Certification, that should account for at least .3, bringing you up to a 3.0. I say give it all you got on the GRE and if you score well you should be pretty competitive. The way I look at the requirements is that they are not always all that matters to getting. It is possible to get in without all the requirements. I would take some core classes at the graduate level if you feel they are going to frown upon your GPA. I would think you need well over a 1000 on the GRE as well.

I understand where you are coming form. I was in your boat at this time last year. I had a 2.8 something. First of all, there are programs around that accept with a 2.75. If you are willing to move I know for sure Saint Mary's in Minneapolis and Minneapolis School of Anesthesia both require a 2.75. I also took some on-line classes through Walden University. I did some core classes toward an MSN with a management emphasis. I figured the worst thing that could happen is I complete the program and go from there. Receiving one masters has to look good to an acceptance committee. I did well in the classes and got all A's and moved my GPA up to a 3.01. That was good enough to get me wait listed at Saint Mary's and MSA. Thankfully SMU automatically accepts it's wait list the next year so if all else fails I will be going there in May of 08. Good luck. One more thing, I know Phoenix on line has 5 week classes and Walden's are 8 weeks long. I've heard Phoenix's are a little more intense being shorter which is understandable. I didn't have any problem meeting the requirements for Walden while working full time and having 8 month old twins and a 3 year old at home.
