MSMC ABSN Fall 2013 Program

Hi!!

Just wanted to see if there were any other people on here that applied for the Mount St. Mary's ABSN Fall 2013 program? I just turned in my application yesterday and crossing my fingers that I get in.

From reading other threads about this program, I hear it's pretty competitive.

Hope to hear from some other people soon who also applied so we can all wait this out together! :)

    Aleks- I'm pretty sure an advisor has a phone conference with every applicant who isn't accepted since the committee takes notes on our applications as they are being evaluated and can tell us why we didn't get in and what we can do better if we decide to roll our applications over. Thats basically what they told me about a month ago when they rejected my app (and then decided to consider it after all). I'm considering my waitlist as a rejection. Unfortunately, this causes me to lose a scholarship because of time constraints on it and I will not be able to roll over my app because of the 5 years rule with my classes (I started my classes while doing my first degree in 2008). I am currently looking into options for entry level masters starting next fall, but this is really frustrating to work hard to be considered (and get a scholarship!) and not be able to take advantage of either :(

    Unfortunately, I was denied from the program for this cohort as well! I am pretty sure it is because I had my microbiology class in progress last semester and I am definitely planning to call MSMC to speak to someone about the reason I was denied.

    I am definitely reapplying for the Summer 2014 cohort! :D

    Hi SDSUgrad2012. Don't give up. Being waitlisted is not as bad as being denied. You can also try to apply for ABSN CSUN program in October. They give you 7 years since you completed science classes. MSMC only gives you 5 years. Also starting this year CSUN added one more class for spring semester.

    I spoke with MSMC advisor yesterday and she told me that the reason I was denied was my Microbiology class in progress. I will reapply again this fall.
