Moving to chicago

Published

I have read many threads like this so I hate to be redundant but I still have a few questions.

I am hoping to move to chicago and attend a program at a community college there. Its hard when you dont live in the state to know which schools have a good reputations, and which schools I am more likely to be accepted too.

I have poor grades in the past, for the most part and I am hoping to attend a school whos acceptance is more focused on pre reqs.

Anyone know of or attending a community college in Chicago area and have some advice.

Thanks.

The Chicago metro area is quite large, so you'll probably get more suggestions if you narrow it down a little.

I attend the College of Lake County in Grayslake, and currently, admission to the nursing program is based strictly on NLN pre-entrance exam scores. There are, however, pre-reqs (i.e. Biology and Chemistry), proficiencies, and other criteria that must be met prior to requesting a formal screening for the program.

Triton College in Melrose Park (I think that's the right village name) has a good reputation. Check it out. Good luck to you!

There's also Oakton Community College w/ campuses in Des Plaines and IL. Their nursing programs start in January and August. Good luck.

I live in Will Co., but check out South Suburban or Moraine Valley. These are suburban Comm. Colleges, though, and depends on your location.
