Moving from CA to AR

Hi everyone,

What would be first thing on our to do list before moving to Arkansas? My partner (RN) and I have decided and planned to move the first quarter of next year. Should we get a place first? Should we get an AR drivers license first? Please help. Thank you.

Do you have jobs, that would be first on my list. Either way I don't think you need to worry about the drivers license right away, you usually need an address and proof or residency (utility bills etc) first anyway. You can research websites re: moving and find alot of info there and esp. for the area you want to go. Good luck, moving is difficult but usually worth the effort!

Thank you for replying @Daisy4RN. So we need a temporary license from the board of nursing while our application for the license(endorsement) is in process?

So, you need a temp BON license from AR BON? I would find out what is required from the (AR) BON to obtain that and go from there...

Also, you might think about keeping the CA license just in case.

Thank you @Daisy4RN?

Start your nursing license application now, you’ll more than likely have to get fingerprinted for AR, pay the fees, send transcripts etc and pay the CA license verification fee. And I keep my CA license current, even though I’m not working there just in case; it’s worth it.
