Microbiology this summer

Anyone taking Micro this summer? I thought we could check in with each other to see how we are doing. I like it so far. How about you?

I am taking Micro this summer. I was concerned it would be really difficult, but that has not been the case. We have had two tests so far, and I did well on both. We are working on our first graded lab right now, and it is essentially pass or fail. I am having a little trouble locating my bacteria on my gram stains, but I am hoping they will turn out good this coming week for our graded lab.

im taking it online and my school doesnt require a lab component..there are no cumulative tests nor mandatory time span..it started june first and needs to be finished by aug 30 but there is no required pace. it requires the completion of 15 10-25 question MC tests..(more like a quiz)

I started june 1rst. We are doing microbial metabolism and growth. Our labs so far have been gram stains, negative staining, acid fast stains, and structural stains. We have a big lab tomorrow to wrap up our staining then we move onto culture medias and other things. My teacher is about my age, 28ish, and she has her ph.d. she's nice, yet very tough and particular about what she expects. My class ends july 26th. I can't wait to pass it, and have it behind me......

I'm in micro this summer too. This is the second week & have our first test tomorrow. The lecture is OK but I'm really enjoying the labs.

It's not a difficult class if you study hard. I took it in summer as well, along with Anatomy. I am sure anyone could pass the class if they devote few hours each day to study the material. Good Luck!

I'm taking microbiology online this summer and absolutely despise it. My teacher is not as thorough as she should be. Then again, I'm also taking A&P I and Statistics. I am doing exceptionally well in both of those classes. Micro is giving me trouble with those DNA, RNA, and amino acid sequences! I can't wait until this is over August 21!

I have my first Exam on Monday and first Lab assignment Wednesday. There is so much information in such a little time. It seems like I have been going for about a month not 2 weeks. If this exam goes well, I will truely be able to say I like this class. It has been fun so far.

I'm currently taking Micro, will be finished June 30th. As of today I have an A in the lab and a B in the lecture. I have a wonderful lab teacher. Makes the 3 hrs fun and enjoyable. He loves teaching Micro and it shows!

CONGRATS on your A!!!! I hope I can manage to pull that off too.

First test was on Tuesday so I'm hoping we get the grades tonight. If not, we will know by SAturday. I'm not too fond of his test format....T/F, Multiple Choice, Short answer, Essay, & Drawings. Tonight will be the metabolism chapter..........I'm dreading that already. I didn't like it in A&P and I know I won't like it here either. :eek:

Just to check in...

I got a B on my first exam. Now that I know how the exams are, I just might be able to get an A for the rest. If not, B's are good too.

How is everyone doing? I love this class! I love my professor, he is very organized and cristal clear!!!
